Spyro RT delayed until November 13th

Sauce:  https://blog.activision.com/t5/More-Gam … p/10807365

Everyone here at Toys for Bob is so proud to be reigniting the original Spyro trilogy after all these years. We're deeply committed to getting these games right, so we’ve decided to move the release date of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to November 13, 2018. I really hoped that you would be rescuing dragons and scorching Rhynocs sooner, but the Trilogy needs more love and care.  In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait.

The adventure continues,

I'm sure by this news, everyone who was uspet is now happy, and everyone who was happy is now upset, lol.

I think this is cool. I honestly really was looking forward to playing digitally in September, but i can wait. I thought they would delay it from the beginning, just like Crash. But as Summertime came, i felt it wasn't going to. I do think it's kind of stupid if the game is fine digitally and the delay is only for physical release. Seems not fair to digital peeps. But honestly, it's not a big deal. Re-pre-order everyone. I don't want to hear anymore griping. tongue

EDIT: So that's the end of the download controversy right?

WRONG.

IGN on Twitter is saying that a download may still be required for Ripto's Rage and Year of the Dragon.

Re: Spyro RT delayed until November 13th

This makes sense, hopefully everything's ready in time. Download patch is still required, but eh that's fine. Red Dead Redemption 2, Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu, Spider-Man, and that beautiful, glorious Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (What an amazing game.) Are on there way as well. Hopefully it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Sure it won't.

Hope the game is complete and ready to go by then this is a good thing I guess.

Re: Spyro RT delayed until November 13th

Normally I wouldn't mind the delay, and I would much rather they have enough time to finish it and make it even more amazing.

However, I can't help feeling crushed and a little heartbroken. I was so beyond thrilled that the original release day was literally two days after my birthday. Would have been the best gift ever but now my birthday kinda feels ruined. sad That, and this is going to forever bother my OCD because now it won't be released for Spyro's 20th anniversary.

Also, my paranoia has now been triggered and I'm scared that it might get delayed again or something.

I know I really shouldn't be letting this get to me so much. The past couple months have just really not been pleasant for me though, so knowing the game was so close to being out has been one of the main things I had to still look forward to. Now it's going to be another couple tough months...

Anyway, sorry to go off on a tangent.

Re: Spyro RT delayed until November 13th

Won't deny that I'm a bit bummed out too -- I've mostly been eager to see more of Ripto. But, hey, if it gets delayed, it gets delayed. The way I see it, it's better that way...

And look on the brighter side : the wait won't be quite as long as a certain "third installment" for the ever-so popular franchise from Square Enix/Disney. roll
... Which took about eighty-four years.

Ich though, my biggest concern are the videos going around that are like "Oh! Game's delayed! All three'll be on the same disk!" Like...
... I haven't seen anything of the sort said about that yet? Don't be spreading that stuff around when it hasn't been officially stated? hmm

I think the reason this happens is that some people feel vindicated that they helped cause Activision to delay the game, so their wishes will come true, but it probably had nothing to do with the required download.  People like to assume everything they touch has a ripple affect, and if I'm allowed to be cynical for a moment, it's darn near narcissistic.  When someone says "everyone is mad about the download thing," what they mean is "I am mad about the download thing."  When people say "everyone would prefer the game be delayed," they mean "I would prefer the game be delayed."

I think if there is any chance that the delay will help a physical release that doesn't require a download to play all three games, they probably don't have that planned out yet.  My assumption is that a confirmation like that would come when the game goes gold, and the game is not gold yet, and probably wont be until almost Halloween.  And there is exactly 0% chance Activision would promise the game to not require a day 1 download at this point when they don't even know themselves what the case may be, which is why we haven't got that coveted "confirmation from Activision" some people think they are entitled to.

Re: Spyro RT delayed until November 13th

I still wish they'd have put it all on one disc but I guess that's too much to ask for in 2018. That's on the suits and not the developers though, if I had to guess.
