Final Game with all characters

I was thinking that in a few years when no more Spyro games will be made, they should make a final game that includes all characters from the games including Hunter, Bianca, Red and for a few levels you could play as them and be able to switch between them big_smile Its only a suggestion so no flamming please.

Think about it would that really work out i mean half the villians are dead and which spyro would go into the game the new one or the old one?

Dead? None of the, "died" thay always seem to have a creepy way of crsserecting themselvs... Im beginning to think Spyro is going to end up either dieing out within this series, of Nentindo is going to pull a "Mario" and make Spyro a [better not say that word] as in havving him do all sorts of things including grow a raccon tail and spit fireballs [not a new concept making it all the easyer for Nentindo] and that is when all the charters will be involved...

The way I see it is the franchise is in for overhaul. The Legend of Spyro is a good idea for a reboot but not an overhaul. The franchise won't die out until it becomes unprofitable for Universal and Sierra to publish.

As long as there is money to be made the franchise is going to be around for a long time. Think about Sonic, Mario and Zelda... those franchise are still going strong despite some of the repetitive nature most of them are starting to have. The biggest problem for Spyro currently is the storyline ideas are starting to get a tad bit stale as in very few new ideas and no Legend doesn't count since it is effectively throwing in a white towel or raising a white flag of 'I surrender'. I am talking turns of the original Spyro universe that Insomiac Games created. That universe got shelved despite the fact that there was plenty of good story ideas and directions they could have gone with Spyro and his friends. They purposely limited themselves by using the same old villains and locations instead of exploring new realms and new character details. The original Spyro's origin story has never been explored in any of the games. The only mentioning of his backstory has been in various manuals and stories but never in the actual game itself. Talk about a wasted opportunity to explore Spyro's life in greater depth and get to know the little guy even better.

Here we are getting close to Spyro's tenth birthday and we still know nothing about his past... again the new Spyro doesn't count because he is the rebooted version of Spyro not the original.

Whoa. o_O Everything seems to be driven by paper money. It's just sick! I only play for the pleasure of it, not... *scoffs* not that I got no will to work for it. If you want a good game, you build a good game. There's your payment. Well, I guess I shouldn't complain. The series is going to be gone if they don't listen to their fans. The old fans know much to help make this series work. Sierra is gonna take some time before they find out this ain't working any better. They need help from an old company. Insomniac. wink

Insomniac won't contribute since they're exclusively a Sony property now, and they claimed that they did as much as they could with Spyro before moving onto the PS2 hardware.

If you look at it this way, ALL console titles since Year of the Dragon have split the community to some ratio or other as well as finding some new fans in the mix. So no, we can't really "recruit old fans for inspiration" or anything. Even the reboot was needed; we have to admit that in a world where the mainstream videogame audience is maturing, the platformer genre has just about grown as far as it could and there are not very many titles in that genre that get a phenomenal reception unless they have Mario in it.

Answering the original question though, I don't think a game like that would come to existance, though I won't mind them pulling off a Crash Twinsanity and giving some of those characters 5-15 second cameos. tongue

Yeah, its so annoying that the only platformers anyone likes these days are the ones who are Mario, ITS SO ANNOYING.
THe reboot wasn't needed, sure the plot was stuffed up but its a plot, it can be easily fixed. And well a "final game" is hard to predict so.. oh you know what i mean

Well I would make my own spyro game but you have to know C or C++ which is hard I have tried,
well it was hard for me because I jumped straight to it
and I didn't even do html first! well i know better know and I'm doing html know
the good thing is at www.thegamecreators.com , they have easy prgramming tools though for the best one I think,
you have to pay for it, and of course it would make fun platformer games like spyro.
the package is called the 3d gamemaker (the good one at least...)
The other ones seem hard and a few of them are hard except for the fps creator of course.
anyways I too would want another spyro game only if it is based on the original 3 of course....

Sounds cool. Think you'd be able to remake any of the original 3 using that software? I'll bet also that Spyro Fusion might be a lot better if someone made it 3D and added in traditional levels aswell as those minigames...
