It's possible that darkness appeared all around the realms, cancelling out any types of light (a.k.a - The Sun). Wait, wasn't a level in light anyway? The one with the pirate ships in the sky?

Oh, I am so excited for this game! Must...acquire...Wii... (I have a PS2, but the Wii is so much fun.)
TEN's producer said in an interview that the villain is going to usher in an eternal night. I had assumed he meant at the end, but I suppose it doesn't make sense for the producer to give away a spoiler like that, so it could be near the start of the game. Given what we know so far, it's not impossible that the whole thing takes place at night. I don't think that would be so bad, really. The best levels for me in the game were the night ones (Concurrent Skies and Convexity; gosh I loved Convexity 
).
