Elora's Faun Site

Thanks to SpyroRocks, I am actually creating a fan site for Elora, my favorite Spyro character, and I wanted to ask you guys if you wanted to see anything in particular on the site.

So far, I have plans for the main page, a gallery (that includes both screen shots and fan art), an about Elora page, a fan fiction page, and, of course, a page for links. Can anyone think of anything else?

And does anyone want to help me name the page? Because I will totally name it "Elora's Faun Page" if I'm not stopped. big_smile

You could also make a topic about how she is related to Spyro the Dragon and you could name it www.Elorafaun.YYY or www.elorathefaun.YYY

Suggestion for main page name if you can withstand puns: Just For Faun
I'd prefer that or some other creative name over Elora's Faun Page, because of originality. As for making your web site stand out, advertise a bit, such as having other webcomics link to your page. You don't have to sacrifice a generic name for getting your website to show up on Google better.

Suggestions for the web site in general:
- A lot of webcomic sites have an "extra" or "goodies" page where random assortment of stuff not listed in other categories are put in. This can range from flash videos to just about anything else. Dragran's suggestion of an Elora quiz may fit into this category for example.
- A cast of characters page
- If you prefer to lean a bit on the personal side, add an "about me" or "about this site" page

Oh man, "Just for Faun"! XD That almost killed me, and I love it.

I like some of the ideas you guys have been suggesting. A quiz sounds like a fun idea and I've got a few question ideas already. As for a guestbook...I don't think I know enough html for one. big_smile

And I should note early on that this isn't a webcomic. It's just a little character shrine for Elora because I'm just crazy enough to do that sort of thing (my very first web site was a shrine site for Seem, from "Jak 3"). I wanted to promote her a little and maybe get Krome's attention to let them know that people out there like her and would like to see her again.

I was hoping to get some sounds and clips of Elora from the games, but I am not able to do so. Is there anyone here who can? I'd be willing to pay gems for them (1000 for each sound clip and 2000 for video).

I see that you want pics aswell some videos. I can get pics from both GTG and YOTD, but I'll see if I can get any videos.

What pics are you wanting now? (I know I'll try to get that pic of Elora giving Spyro a kiss on the cheak)

As for sound clips, I can probably rip videos from youtube featuring Elora, then edit with Audacity for Elora's voice.

That's a tough question... I suppose for now it ought to be the full cutscenes so there's some context to what's going on. Plus, she narrates most of them. smile

I'd love as many sound clips of Elora as possible. She's just fun to listen to. smile

Razz, sorta bad news. When I try to record the cutscenes, my computer is not even recording the sound, and is making the video file slow as.
Sorry about that, it seems my computer just can't do this sort of thing.

No worries, EN. It saves me from having to learn how to host video files. big_smile But thank you so very much for giving it a try. I think most of the cutscenes with Elora are available on YouTube, so I'll just ask the folks who posted them if I may link to the vids from Just for Faun.

Razz, there still could be some hope left. I have found and tested a program which records the game screen that doesn't mess up with the video and audio.
I'll have another go at getting them cutscenes for you.

Progress report: the coding problem has been fixed, now the real work can begin!

What the site has in the works so far:
* home page - contains an introduction and links to the rest of the site
* about - about Elora, Avalar, her friends, her enemies, and different kinds of fauns in Avalar
* gallery - official art (if any exists of Elora), screen shots, and fan art
* stories - fan fiction all about Elora
* fun - things that don't fit anywhere else; an Elora quiz, icons and avatars, video and sound clips, and a game script of all the scenes with Elora in them
* links - this one is pretty obvious big_smile

If anyone would like to contribute suggestions, art, screens, stories, or help me gather information, it would be greatly appreciated.

And now, for the new question: I need a small logo/avatar for the site and I can't decide if I should make one using a screen shot, if I should draw one myself, or if I should hold some sort of contest and let people contribute ideas. What do you guys think?
