Re: By far the best game in the series.
I remember when I first saw the Spyro series through this game. I got a Pizza Hut demo and it had Skelos Badlands and Sunny Beach on it, and I instantly fell in love with the game. I got the game about a month later and I was only disappointed by the fact that I couldn't climb at first, as I could in the demo. :-P

I've already said many times that the gameplay in TLOS is awful
Serge: What do you mean stopped after spyro 2, what is the matter with spyro 3?

Re: By far the best game in the series.
It depends what genre your into, platformer junkies like i would prefer the originals, action junkies will prefer TLOS.

Re: By far the best game in the series.
It doesn't matter what genre that a Spyro game is based on, I like the gameplay in all Playstation spyro games! (except ETD which I have never played)

Re: By far the best game in the series.
well it also depends if you favour gameplay over plot or vice versa.
Also depends what genre your into, you may like both if ur into both platform & action.
Thev originals were kinda action platformers though, so you may like both but prefer TLOS if your into actioin

Re: By far the best game in the series.
the 3rd game was better than this but this one is stll awesome. I like the 3rd one better becasue of its levels and how you could go on the skateboad and play as other characters and that. Spyro 1 was good but its nowhere near as good and 2 and 3.

Re: By far the best game in the series.
I love all the Spyro games (The originals I mean.), and this one is my favorite, but not by FAR. The original had really good level designs, but it seemed that the only like "Character" was Spyro (Not literally!). In Ripto's Rage other characters were introduced, and the whole idea of going to levels to get talisms and help the people were pretty cool. Level design was also crazily nice. In The Year of the Dragon, some bits were similar to Spyro 2, but I did not really like the sorceress, and when you look back on all the levels, the game seems kind of short of the epic levels, like those from Spyro 2 and some from Spyro 1 (Spyro the Dragon). I used to love the skateboarding aspect of Spyro 3, but looking back on it now, it is not as good as I used to think it was. The rocket boarding level in the Super Bonus Round is still great though, if not better!

I love all 3, but yeah...I do have to say that the second is most likely my favorites. I just love the homeworlds!

Yeah, the home worlds in Spyro 2 are the best! They are very big, and have lots of secrets. The other ones do too, but they are still not as good as Spyro 2's ones!

I actually prefer YOTD's homeworlds myself. I dunno, YOTD's homeworlds just have more for me. Spyro 2's are really good though.

Re: By far the best game in the series.
I think that it has the best level and homeworld design on average. There are some better ones in Spyro 1 and Spyro 3 but on average it has the best.

Re: By far the best game in the series.
Certainly Ripto's Rage was the best of all of them. It felt like a completely new game without resetting the series, while not feeling like little more than an expansion pack like YotD did. Plus everyone should know why I consider this one the best...
And maybe I was wrong...
Happy 10th, Spyro.

I think that this is a whole new game from Spyro the dragon with out resseting the series but then YOTD is a whole new new game from this one without resetting the series. I dont think that Riptos Rage feels like an expansion pack to Spyro the Dragon at all and i also dont think that YOTD feels like and expansion pack to Riptos Rage either. Thats just my opinion.

many critics dissed that spyro 3 was too much like spyro 2, pretty much the only bad point.

Re: By far the best game in the series.
I think Ripto's Rage is the best.
Part of the reason is because I love Ripto and a HUGE fan.
Im getting the 1st one since I havnt played it since I was like 5
and I have the 3rd one but I just dont like it as much.
Especially cuz of the Spark's Minigames and evry1 elses to (Sheila, etc.).
And all the other games that werent made be Insomniac arent as good.
Ripto's Rage is the best and always will be.

It had some advancements, but for me it also feels a lot like an expansion pack.

Re: By far the best game in the series.
Even when i was young i found spyro 2 pretty messy and disorganised because it had 6 levels in the first world, 8 levels in the second and 4 levels in the last, i mean WTF? First 2 worlds talismans, last orbs? i like how Spyro 3 pretty much organised it, and added in the extra playable characters.
