Even when i was young i found spyro 2 pretty messy and disorganised because it had 6 levels in the first world, 8 levels in the second and 4 levels in the last, i mean WTF? First 2 worlds talismans, last orbs? i like how Spyro 3 pretty much organised it, and added in the extra playable characters.

I do not remember it having that much of a difference between the number of levels in a homeworld.  I do not really remember that bothering me much.

Yes i agree i though exactly the same thing. I think the Winter Tundra should have had talismens in it.

I dont think YOTD feels like an expansion pack because it just has so many advancements in a way. It has lots of mini games and lots more playable characters. It has awesome levels and everything. I can understand why someone might feel that because of its mini games it feels like an expansion pack but for me they just made a whole new game by themselves. So if you put in all the levels and stuff, you have a pretty good game and one that does not feel like an expansion pack.

I never played the games in a little while, and I totally forgot that Winter Tundra had no talisms!  I thought it did...  sad

Re: By far the best game in the series.

Does anybody even know why there aren't any tailismens in Winter Tundra? Its almost as if insominac couldnt be bothered making any more of them so they just stuck in some orbs instead.

Re: By far the best game in the series.

Eh, Well the story goes that they had all the talismans anddefeated ripto but just as the professor set up the big magic crystal to send Spyro back to the dragon worlds, Ripto stole the crystal and started using it forsomething...i dont know. But all the talismans had been gotton and Spyro only needed orbs so i guess insomniac decided to give the characters orbs instead of talismans....?
.....Eh..... we would never know if Insomniac did it on purpose or just because they were running out of time.

Well, I probably did but just did not think much of it.  I do remember it having floating orbs at the portals instead of talisms though.

Re: By far the best game in the series.

The levels in Spyro 2 had the most character in the entire series, along with the most characters. I really liked this game.

And by the way, for any of you turning into a penguin, stop it.

Re: By far the best game in the series.

The 3 games were amazing.

But;

Spyro 2 was just magical. And I mean it, you could feel that magic in gameplay, music, everything.
The other two were absolutely wonderful, but the magic in this one made it even MORE wonderful. big_smile

Re: By far the best game in the series.

I think that YOTD was more magical. I just like the levels, music, storyline and mini games more than ripto's rage. But  I think RR was the second best.

I think it's because if there was more Talismen and you could fight Ripto straight afterwards, it would mean Orbs would only be for Dragon Shores and beating the game 100%. So I support what Insominac did there.

Re: By far the best game in the series.

[sub]There were only 14 talismans, like Elora said at the beginning. Not sure why they didn't continue them, or spread them out more.

Whatever you have to collect, I don't think it really matters what they're called. [/sub]

Re: By far the best game in the series.

The first three games were awesome, as a matter of fact I like nearly all of the Spyro games (except Season of Flame). Spyro actually got me interested in making a similar game with the original gameplay.

Anyway, it is difficult to say which game is better. Spyro 1 was the most mysterious, Spyro 2 was the most nostalgic and Spyro 3 was epic.

I'm a secret duck who lives in the glitchy but nice Honey Marshes. My day to day job is to spy on the blue guys so they won't get up to much mischief.

Re: By far the best game in the series.

I'm torn between Year of the Dragon and Gateway to Glimmer. They're both amazing but YotD has more collectibles.

Although I don't think the Professor yells, "AHA!" in YotD.

Actually in YotD, Agent 9's lab, if you hang around long enough, the Professor indeed does yell "AHA!" in addition to his trademark "No..."

We all agree, the Insomniac Spyro games were the best; there is absolutely denying it.

Status:
1. Spyro the Dragon 100%
2.Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage 100% + 15% in another run
3. Spyro 3: YOTD PSN Version! 117% Complete WITH Skill Points. 3 days!

Re: By far the best game in the series.

YES! That was like, my favorite hobby as a kid. Sit in front of the professor and listen to him say, "No... no... no... *head grows gigantic* AHA!" over and over again.
