The Legend of Spyro: The Darkest Hour is the third and final installment in The Legend of Spyro triolgy that is set to release Fall October 2008 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Playstation 2, and Nintendo DS.

This is the first Spyro game that a player can fly at anytime they want (free-fly mode). The game also features a co-op (two player) play with Cynder.

The game continues after The Eternal Night where Spyro, Cynder and Sparx are left frozen in time, then as the view zooms out you see hunter coming towards them.

[edit] Plot
In this epic culmination, or "climax" game, Spyro finally faces the Dark Master( first purple dragon ever born, but banished into exile ).

I was kinda worried that it might only come out on the PS3 (they've never crossed generation consoles before in the sony industry, so it seemed unlikely to me that they would bring one out for both consoles). I'm glad the PS2 version will come out.

yay i hope i get this game(cause i reserved it) i truly hope it has better graphics....than eternal nights.... :-P and co-op with cynder!? YAY!!!! (im in love with cynder big_smile ) ps. they must put the 360 vers. w/ achievments...oh now im confused... :-P ...

question:do you think since the darkmaster is a purple dragon, spyro is an even match for a battle?
question2:do you think cynder will help spyro fight the darkmaster?

IMO, Cynder will even get injured before Spyro faces the master.

I'm serious about my prediction even though I hate to imagine it. But I've been through many fictional dark and unrealistic plots, and usually the end of the strongest and main antagonist usually has a precedent of having all other characters except the protagonist, at an immobile state.

I have the sneaking suspision that something bad is going to happen to Cynder. They said it was before the other games so if this is the beginning of the Spyro timeline then where is Cynder later? She is either gonna go away for a long time or *sniff she will die. I can proper imagine a scene where she is the one to defeat the Dark Master to save Spyro when the Dark Master is about to kill him. I mean Cynder must know a lot about him, so must know how to defeat him.

I bet they wont kill her, they wont, at the most make her look lost but she comes back, it would mess it up for so much people, and makers want what the people want, cause happy buyers = $$$$
