I prefer gateway to Glimmer because it explains that there is a new world to be entered. Ripto's Rage just seems like a rip-off of Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex.

That's odd you're saying that, given that we all know which one came first tongue but I see what you mean. Still, if there's any criticisms to be taken aback, it's the Crash series for trying to refer to Star Trek with that subtitle, personally.

Personally I like Gateway to Glimmer. I agree that it doesn't have a lot of relevance compared to Ripto's Rage but I still think it sounds nicer.

Gateway to Glimmer is better I think. (And It's on my cover) But Ripto's Rage basically covers the what its all about though.

But what about Tondemo Tours? Isn't that the Japanese one?

Here I go again with my semi-long post..

I think Ripto's Rage is a much better title because it gives someone the feeling that "Hmm... well it sounds adventurous and troublesome so it might be a fun game".. To me, Gateway to Glimmer is a good title but it doesn't get the *Rawwr!!* satisfaction that someone might get with something like Ripto's (Rage) ..keyword Rage. Gateway to Glimmer sounds like a "Color-a-dragon" game..seeing as theres a purple dragon on the front..

The difference is:
If you have a save game from GtG and try to load it with a R'sR CD, it will not work. And vice-versa.
Oh, and R'sR is NTSC and GtF is PAL. (60Hz and 50Hz, respectively).

I've actually grown to "Ripto's Rage!" because of my location but I must say "Gateway to Glimmer" sounds more classy and magical. But only Glimmer is one stage of the game, I can see how they thought of Gateway to Glimmer, yet it doesn't fit the game as well. Maybe "Adventure in Avalar" would be more suitable.
And not to mention Ripto's Rage! does sound a bit lame, but shows more of Spyro's personality.

My vote is Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! :]

Ripto's Rage is way to direct in my opinion. I like the floating titles.
So "Gateway to glimmer" it is.
after all, Spyro was heading for "Dragon Shores2 through the portal, but ended up in Glimmer, Avalar

Ripto's Rage sounds more catchy than Gateway to Glimmer. Glimmer in itself is only a fraction of the whole adventure. A better alternative title should be something like "Gateway to Avalar".
