The fight between new and old spyro

People say that the new spyro series will bring the down fall of spyro, or that it sucks....well what i ahve been realizing is that a large number of Spyro players have increased once the LOS started up...just look at all the LOS music videos are on youtube. It shows that alot more people are playing it. Just something to think about.

Correct. LOS wins. I like the new ones. Because I finished the three and it feels tacky now. Sure I play them on my PSP but I loaded an emulator on my PSP to play LoS Spyros. Anyway, being an TLoS Basher Basher as appointed by ratchet, I'll do the bashing of the LoS bashers. They are comparing two different things. They are comparing Original Spyro between LoS Spyro! What a joke! I can say they don't know the difference between a tomato and an airplane! Ha! Two different things! Compare this will ya?

Now kids, let us compare an airplane with a tomato. First, an airplane is made in a factory. The tomato is grown in the orchard. The airplane flies miles, while a tomato does not fly unless you throw it. Airplanes can be painted any color, but tomatoes can be green (unripe) or red (ripe) or brown (withering) or black (dead). Airplanes weigh tons, while tomatoes can sit on your hand without crushing it. Airplanes can hold many people, but tomatoes get crushed if you try to sit on it. Now prekindergartens, do we know how these two things are different?

Doppel, if they are two different things, why are they both in our forum celebrating Spyro. Its like your saying that this is "Aeroplanes and Tomato forums", it would be silly. Them being the same francchise MEANS that they should be similar, otherwise it would be another franchise, one franchise for the tomatoes and one for the aeroplane. if they are not to be compared, and really not supposed to be the same thing, maybe the old and the new spyro games should be developed at the same time, Afterall they ARN't the same series and should not be compared. When i say that TLOS is not spyro, i'm saying that hes not an aeroplane anymore, hes a tomato, got it? Dont get sarcastic on me...

Well if your saying that the originals are "plot-less" well thats very untrue, spyro 1-3 had a plot, obviously it wasn't as deep as TLOS but it DID have a plot, each level in spyro 2-3 had a plot, cutscenes were pretty frequent, Spyro was probably one of the most plotful games on the PS1.
but to answer your actualy question, the andswer if yes, i do, and many other people like to play games without much of a plot too. People still play SMB1 and alot of other plot minimum games on the NES. And judging by all the old spyro fans on youtube, i'd say that they like to play "plot-less" games as well.

Compare them to all the old Spyro glitch videos, speedruns, cutscene uploads, others, they are outnumbered greatly.

Alot of fans hated ETD, had a tiny bit of hope with AHT, then just lost it with ANB. Alot of people really love TLOS. But it is an illusion, the reason why there are so many TLOS fans here is because they are the only ones still in touch with Spyro, take a look at say all the comments on the ANB intro on youtube.

I like TLOS more... I don't understand why new series are compared to old ones. They're different stories, unrelated. They didn't ruin Spyro, they created new one. So there's two Spyros unrelated to each other. This stupid comparing and bashing should stop. We like the different games, big deal! So why to complain if someone likes newer Spyro more?

Why? Because you can't complete it? If you thought TEN was hard, try Stuntman: Ignition and compare the difficulty level. MUCH harder. I used to spend hours planning out on a small thing that lasts ten seconds.

Urgh...Can we all just agree to disagree and get on with it?
Some people like the new, some people like the old. Why the hell does it matter? I myself like T.L.o.S more, but I've played and liked every console Spyro they've made. (well, ETD was...well it could've been better).
And...Insomniac left Spyro for good. They've said about as much in an interview.
And that type of game really doesn't sell as well anymore. If they were to change it back now, or after DotD, for one thing, it'd confuse players who are new to Spyro, and the sales which have been coming up again would probably start to regress (even if a bunch of old Spyro fans who are saying 'about bl**dy time!' are happy).
It doesn't have to a constant war on which Spyro is best. And I really don't see what the point of arguing about it is.

Now your just confusing me Doppel, Your hell bent on saying that Spyro is the same spyro, but then you say that TLOS Spyro is like a aeroplane and Originals like a Tomato, it doesn't add up. Make up your mind, are they the same Spyro or not?

Westwood used to make C&C games. However, EA bought them out and started making C&C games. They were different-different than what I was used to-but I lived with the changes. In fact, I began to like them better. If I can live with a change of the company that owns a franchise, I'm sure you can, too.

Are you saying that i could not live with Insomniac selling Spyro? No, i can live with that, but i'm just saying that i did prefer the insomniac games. If someone makes a Spyro game better than INsomniac, i'd be delighted. For one, i find SOF really fun!
