I personally would have to go towards PSP. I have both a nintendo ds and a psp.

Re: Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
Although I like the PSP, I would rather dig for DS. It is way cheaper than PSP
In SG where i live, the stall sells it for $200. PSP sells more than $300

Re: Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
I don't own the psp, but I have the Nintendo DS.
Would the psp be cheaper, I'd buy it immediately, cause of the larger and beter display and better games mainly - so I vote for psp^^

Re: Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
The psp is more expansive because it offers you more than just gameplay. If you want more for your buck, psp is the way to go. you can't say you don't like the psp just because you can't afford one, correct?

Also, video playback, pic viewing, some applications can be ran, the UMDs are also avalable as movies, not just games... WiFi browser is pretty nifty [donno if DS has that]. In essanance, an expandable portable media player, that can get up pretty high in storage, providing you have the cash for a SD card.

Re: Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
psp uses memory stick. if you have the right version, running unsigned code is pretty easy and fun. I got v1.5 = homebrew!
ds has a opera browser but it is right now only in japan.

Re: Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
SD card is a memory stick of sorts. Just comes in a lotta sizes... from 64MB to 128GB. Not sure if it'll support that size, but, yes. Also, noted that the PSP is designed to work with their own memory cards, note that the SD card DOES work with the PSP, as I have access to one, and have transfered data from a PC to the unit.
Info on the 'MagicGate' memory stick
And image of the card I'm referring to. Note the size similarities.

Re: Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
psp will not work with a sd card. sony designed it to only work with a memory stick, so that they would sell more of them. the memory stick has 10 contacts on it while sd only has 9...

Re: Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
I helped purchase the card for the unit... the 1GB stick was on sale, however, they had some 2GB SD cards, so, he went with it... I'm pretty darn sure. As soon as he and I are awake, I'll make sure that my findings are false or true.

Re: Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
Look, I just had a look, it's not true, I was gonna revoke my comments, and back down my argument... what got me going originally, is that it's NOT made by Sony, the card we got him, but SunDisk, inc. However, it has the 'Memory Stick Duo' on it, so, I prolly thought it was a standard SD card, seeing as SunDisk makes SD cards too. So, once again, I stand down my argument. I even mentioned that in my last post that I was gonna verify, so... yeah.
Anywho, PSP is better. Fin.

Re: Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
another reason why i don't buy the psp is, that my mother hates the playstation...
I'm not allowed to have any sony playstations...that's stupid...but she doesn't have anything against nintendo^^

Re: Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
What does she have against PlayStation? XBox is worse. All rated M games. Nintendo is the system that has mostly E games.
I don't really have an opinion, because I don't have a DS, or PSP. I've never really gotton into handheld games.

Re: Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
i don't know - but i think the main reason why is, that she's a teacher, and want's that i don't be distract of my schoolwork...
thats what I imagine...or that there are very brutal games for the ps, so that she only allows nintendo stuff. a typical dialouge:
I: can i buy myself a psp or a ps2?
Mother: No, you've so many other plastations of nintendo - and everytime you want a new one...
I: but..
Mother: no, never!
I: And can I buy a wii?
Mother: when you've the money for, ok...
Strange, I know....
