I think Spyro is really cool because he defends his elders and friends from Riptos destruction. spyro is just a brave little dragon. he defends himself even but he mainly defends the good guys around him. think about this what would you rather be a bad guy helping Ripto or Spyro and the good guys? in my opinion spyro is the key to the dragon elders living out longer lives.
