The Spyro Hop: v0.2 Release!

This is a simple game which is my first game ever. So go easy on it. Developments will come over time.

It's a pretty simple game:

Press UP to jump over obstacles. It gets faster and faster and faster over time.

Crash into something and it's game over.

My highest score is 54.

NOTE: You will need WinRAR to uncompress the compressed version.

NOTICE: Due to the game's graphics, random enemy generator, active music and engine, it requires the DirectX End-User Runtime installed on your PC. Without it, the game can crash, like ratchet's and SpyroGirl101's. Also, PCs lacking discrete graphics cards can cause crashes.

Hmm... I downloaded it from my host and it ran.

I'll try uploading an alternate version.

Windows Vista Home Basic.

I'll try it on an XP laptop.

Hmm... A little google search brought up this:

I assume it's either your graphics card, or lack of.

Its yoor graphics card.. I had the same problem with some gm games.. and tried the same gm games on my freinds comp and it worked fine he has a better graphic card then me.

Yeah, it said that to me with my old system.

8MB Graphics
128MHZ P2 Processor
128MB RAM
20GB Hardrive Space
Windows XP Pro Serv2

But I got a new one that's better and it doesn't do that anymore.

256MB Graphics
2.4GHZ Core2duo Processor
2GB RAM
320GB Hardrive Space (640 with RAID)

So I think it's only a problem with low systems, or systems with windows 98, cos I had 98 and it sometimes said "Unexpected error occured" and it returned to gamemaker, if it was a gm6.

Okay, that could be causing the problems. So I ran the game on some computers.

Test System 1: Laptop
Graphics Card: 128 MB Graphics (ATI Radeon 1100M)
Processor: 1.8 GHz AMD Semperon Processor
RAM: 1024 MB (1GB) DDR2 RAM
Hard Drive: 80GB Hard Drive space
OS: Windows Vista Home Basic (Service Pack 1)

Test System 2: Another Laptop
Graphics Card: 256 MB Graphics (ATI Radeon 1150M)
Processor: 2.0 GHz AMD Athlon X2 (Yes, two processing cores)
RAM: 512 MB DDR2
Hard Drive: 80GB
OS: Windows XP SP2

Both systems ran the game perfectly.

I run Vista and it works perfectly.

Apparently, this game is Windows Vista Only. >_<

I'll downgrade to GM6 and see if it works on XP...

I think this game is a pretty much a failure.
