Re: too hard too lame
I resent you calling it lame. And it's not hard. It's quite easy actually and the dragon head doesn't lead to a homeworld. It leads to the boss level Toasty. <_<

[sub]Oh, but can't you see, she's trying to get some attention.
Yeah, she found this game to be very easy when she was three. >__> As for "lame", I doubt three-year-olds are even capable of having such an opinion.

Re: too hard too lame
I don't think that the game is 'lame'. But it's easy if you know everything you have to do. So you can beat every level in 5-10 Minutes or less. There are many levels, but mini-games and quests like in Spyro 2 are missing to make it longer.
I think it's still woth playing it. In 10 years(if you haven't touched the game in that time) you forget a lot about the game. I played Spyro the dragon when I was 8 or 9 with friends. I got a PS2 last year and bought the game. It was still fun to play.

Re: too hard too lame
This game isn't lame at all lol. Without this, there wouldn't be a Sypro 2, 3, ETD, AHT, ANB, TEN. You get me?

Re: too hard too lame
i say that part one is hardest and dullest but i havent played it in years its so dusty
The game is not short...depending on how good you are and you use your head then you might find it to be better. The puzzles are not hard to solve. You need to figure it out and pay attention to the hints you are given.
You mention having trouble at the Dragon Head, right? A dragon was near it and he'll tell you that it won't open unless you complete a level. That means you need to find all of the primary (Dragons) and secondary (Gems, Eggs, Keys) to get 100% on one level.
If you needed help, all you had to do is ask in the Spyro Tips/Secrets/Help thread. I'm constantly checking it and I will try to help any way I can.
I don't care how it looks but how it functions

Re: too hard too lame
The game was really easy and long. It is probably because you played it when you were two or three that you found it hard.

Re: too hard too lame
The graphics were prehistoric, the enemies were TOO easy to kill, and don't even get me started on the background. I really hate the game!
One day the unreal shall be real, the fallen shall rise, and the nightmares shall become a reality. Those who follow shall earn life eternal. Those who don't shall die. The rising of the Dark Lord shall be humanity's undoing. All hail the Dark Lord of the Sith.

Re: too hard too lame
Why would you hate the game which started everything off? If everyone hated it like you, we wouldn't be where we are with spyro today, and we wouldnt have the forum either. Its good spyro has survived this long , (10years), so be grateful its still going. (please note im not an original fan ranting, i like both series, i was just giving my input)

Re: too hard too lame
Sorry about that. I just think the graphics are not that good is all. I like games that have true graphics, everything on the first Spyro had flat surfaces and if there were any round places it would be the eyes.

That's a bit rediculous considering how old the game is. I mean of course they look crap compared to today's graphics but for it's time those graphics were legendary.

Come on? The game is VERY old. I can count games with my right hand that had better or identical graphics in 99. Im sorry to be this way, but you sir, are RETARDED. Graphics of spyro the dragon were revolutional back then.
(Dont start saying that i call you retarded because you dont like the game. You just fail to understand that the game is very old and it was awesome back then, and still is. Go back to dawn of the dragon section and write love stories between cynder and spyro, please)
ps. Dawn of the dragon DOESNT have "TRUE" graphics. They are total bullsh*t compared to many many games ive seen recently.

Re: too hard too lame
lol...true graphics. I have seen amazing graphics from '07 to now but they don't assist the main part of the game...gameplay. As long as the graphics don't glitch up on you and don't hamper the gameplay then it shouldn't be seen as a concern. It is art that covers the dim meshes and models that you see.
I said it before and I think I'll say it again since it's oh so true. I don't care how something looks but how it functions. The spherical bubble for warping the sky used in the first game is much more superior compared to a skybox. Ever noticed that?
