Re: Spyro Stopping Time In The New Game
Doubtful.
IIRC it said in some Q and A session on Sierra's site that it wouldn't be.
...I don't have the link, but it's in there somewhere.
Oh great, my lighthouse is on fire again, be right back...

Re: Spyro Stopping Time In The New Game
That's true I read it and Spyro won't have it in the next game the game maker said that Spyro remembered the Chronicler's exact words ride out this storm and live to fight another day and when the Mountain was collapsing he would use it at the right time besides I think they wanted to make it more challegeing it's more fun that way.
RIP Test AKA Andrew Martin.

Re: Spyro Stopping Time In The New Game
Nah, Dragon Time won't be in DotD.
Chris Wilson said this after answering the questions about it on Sierra:
Dragon Time will not be one of Spyro's abilites in DotD. The Chronicler taught this ability to Spyro for the sole purpose of allowing him to survive the collapse of Mount Malefor. In his most desperate moment, Spyro realized why he had been taught this ability and why he had been summoned - to ride out the storm that was coming.

Wait a minute... He stopped time during that collapse? How in the world did he and Cynder and Sparx (?) mature then when they were released from that crystal?

They only grew a little bit. But I know, it's confusing.

Another great freaky dragon mystery...
By the way, anyone curious what happened to Sparx's parents? Think we might see them in this new game at some point?

Re: Spyro Stopping Time In The New Game
I doubt it...they aren't really necessary to the plot anymore. They didn't even make an appearance in TEN, save for that part in Celestial Caves, and their names were only mentioned in the GBA (or was it DS?) version of ANB.
So, nah, I don't think we'll see them again, or if we do, only briefly.

Did they now? A lot of people on this board and on the Sierra team are insisting that he's "grown up" in this game.
I don't know about you guys, but this just sounds like a really cheap excuse to make Spyro older-looking. We'll see, though. Maybe the plot isn't like it seems to be.

Re: Spyro Stopping Time In The New Game
I think what happened was that Spyro, Cynder, and Sparx were frozen in time, but not immune to it's passage. What I'm trying to say is that they aged normally inside the crystal, while time also progressed normally outside of it. Kind of like a pocket dimension.
This world...Is rotten. People are evil, they kill and murder for no reason. I will be the one to cleanse this world of evil. I am Kira.

Re: Spyro Stopping Time In The New Game
However, a body needs to be fed in order to function for aging or even stay alive for that matter. The whole point to freezing time is to not being required to do that, otherwise you would just be in some kind of coma while you're fed through medical means. I'd understand if they are all just unconscious and the soul crystal is filled with energy that feeds them, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Well we don't know how long they were frozen for. I don't think they'd be stuck in a crystal for a couple years. I'm sure this kind of stuff will be explained early in the game. All we've seen are photos and a little bit of gameplay.

... I have never EVER seen Spyro eat AT ALL during ANB and TEN... Think about it, none of them EVER ate (besides Sparx), so I am not sure if dragons even eat in this game (explains why Cynder is so thin).

Yes we do, they said that they were trapped for 3 years. But your right, we will find out when the game comes...

Neither do we see around 90% of videogame characters eat, but we have to assume they do at some point. Time in most games is not real-time. Sure this is some kind of fantasy, but if dragons grow and die like nonfictional creatures, we can't ignore basic science either. They have to eat.

No. It doesn't say they were trapped for 3 years. It says 3 years have passed since they were trapped.

Well it means they where trapped, in Enternal Night Spyro and Cynder where cast into crystal so they can 'Ride out this Storm' so they where trapped in the crystal. as for the Eating, I am sure they eat but it is action/adventure and in order too move the plot along they had to get rid of a few things in the game such as eating.

Saying they were trapped for three years is not the same as saying it's been three years since they were trapped.

I still see no difference... They were in a crystal for 3 years, both sentences explain that...
If they are trapped for 3 years, that means that 3 years have passed when the mountain collapsed.
Bottom line is this:
<-------+--------|--------|---------[]--------->
+ = When they got trapped.
[] = When they got released.
That's what both sentences are saying, who gives a care about how it is said...

Both sentences don't mean the same thing. I'm sorry you don't see that. It's all about the word "since."
And you're little box-plot thingy doesn't have enough detail to it. Those lines could just be days you know. :-P

You take things too literal, that will get you in big trouble. Bottom line is they were inside a crystal for 3 years, then they got released. Doesn't matter how you say it, I am not sure if you are new to the English language but they both mean the same thing.

It's called sarcasm. There's an SAT word for you.
I've been speaking the English language for about 17 years now. I'm surprised you would come at me with that when you can't tell the difference between two simple sentences. Let's see ...
If I were to say "it's been 3 hours since I have taken a shower," would you think that's the same thing as saying I've been taking a shower for 3 hours?

Re: Spyro Stopping Time In The New Game
Yes, but they also said somewhere that "3 years later they have been freed from the crystal"
So both sentences are true, and in this case they both mean the same thing.
I have only thought you were new to english because grammar in other languages could differ, and this is an international forum.
EDIT: Umm, no one really learns how to speak english in the first 5 months of being alive. O:) I'm sorry, but that was hilarious in your post.
