Hidden text

In this epic culmination, or "climax" game, Spyro, Sparx, and Cynder wake up in the future. In the final chapter of the trilogy, players find Spyro teaming up with Cynder to face and defeat Malefor, the Dark Master, hopefully saving the Dragon World from evil and darkness that is plaguing it. The game starts with a mysterious set of enemies who enter the ruins of The Mountain of Malefor, where Spyro and Cynder remain frozen in crystal after their fight with Gaul. The enemies break open the crystal, put glowing green snakes, whose effects are to keep Spyro and Cynder together at all times, on the two dragons' necks and take them away, leaving Sparx. Sparx awakens to find Hunter of Avalar, who observed the whole scenario unfold from the shadows. Meanwhile, Spyro and Cynder awaken in a dark area, wondering what has happened to them. Because of Spyro and Cynder being trapped in the crystal for an everlasting 3 years, they've gone through a massive growth spurt. And now, basically, they've grown to their full adult size.

Gameplay:
This is the first Spyro game that a player can fly at any time they want (free-fly mode). The game also features a co-op (two player) play with Cynder, which introduces players to drop-in/drop-out with the cooperative feature. The co-op feature allows players to have the option of completing the game as either Spyro or Cynder, giving them more freedom to explore Spyro’s world in completely new ways. It was confirmed that Spyro retains his commandments of fire, electricity, earth, and ice, while Cynder controls poison, wind, shadow, and a bizarre element with the properties of fear, powers given to her when she was controlled by the Dark Master, in addition to being faster but weaker. However, at one point during the second game, it is stated that its the purple dragon's destiney to harness all of the elements. Cynder being able to control four elements, when she is not a purple dragon, is odd. She is seen breathing fire in A New Beginning, a power she can only access in her giant form. Along with the standard power ups that gems will bring, Spyro and Cynder can now both equip dragon armor in pieces that they find.

Re: DotD Info (Some Spoilers)

I'm still lost on how they were able to age if they were frozen in time.

[sub]Because if they didn't, how else would Spyro and Cynder ever become a couple?

Hah, either that or they needed a half-a**** excuse to make Spyro more maturrrrr.

It's a shame people would rather not use their imaginations. No, we can't just IMAGINE that they got together in the future even if it isn't explicitly stated in the game, we need an official fanservice thing going on here!

sad

(PS. Older Spyro's off fighting the great war while Elora stays at home and makes inventions for their kid who goes out on many adventures with Hunter and Bianca's child in my imaginative version of the future from the old timeline. I'm quite satisfied with this.)

Re: DotD Info (Some Spoilers)

[sub]Exactly. If you think about it, you can tell where they forgot to close some holes in the plot, and where they tried to make it all "epic" but failed miserably.

Example: Have any of you played TEN? Now, can someone tell me why Spyro dreamed about a tree, only to be lead to a giant tree-looking boss? The tree is defeated, and Spyro continues on his merry little way.

Uhhh... So they can throw in some annoying scroll-left-and-right style boss fight? D=[/sub]

Re: DotD Info (Some Spoilers)

[sub]Sorry guys. I'll try to keep the ranting at a minimum. =P

Anyway, anyone else reminded of Crash Twinsanity? I haven't played it, but it's a similar concept from what I've heard. [/sub]

Well, maybe the Chronicler said that to Spyro to lure him to Skabb his way...So Skabb could grab him. And in the end, Spyro gets a dream that he has to find the Chronicler in the Celestial Caves on the white isle...
and the only way to find that place, was looking on the map Skabb had.

Re: DotD Info (Some Spoilers)

[sub]My point is, even if that is what happened (which seems unlikely, because why wouldn't the Chronicler have sent him a vision of Skabb's ship?) , it certainly wasn't explained very well. And I've got plenty more examples where that one came from, but let's save them for another thread, shall we?

And Mad Guns22, I meant how they're attached.[/sub]
