Whispers in the Dark

Okay here is a fanfic I made when I listen to the song "Whispers in the Dark" by Skillet.

I was mostly inspiret by this part of the lyrics:

The song is a little dark but it is still a very good song

Whispers in the dark

Cynder walked around to find Spyro there had suddenly gone because she had a vision but had been gone for hours.
She had a bad feeling that something bad had happened to him and was worried.
Hour after hour after walking, she lost herself in the forest.
“Spyro where are you?” shouted Cynder in hope that Spyro would hear her...but she didn’t get any response.
“Where the heck am I?” she said to herself and looked around lost in the stupid woods.

Suddenly, she heard a voice. It was low, but she could hear something but she couldn’t see where it came from.
“W-Who’s there?” she asked a little scared.
“Cynder…” the low voice said, the black dragoness have heard it before, it was so familiar.
She then recognize who the voice belonged to.
“S-Spyro… where are you?” she asked and looked around but couldn’t find where the sound came from.
“Cynder… the sky…” said Spyro’s low whisper in the dark forest.
Cynder didn’t understand but still looked into the night’s starry sky.
She then noticed something weird, the stars in one direction were getting brighter somehow.
“What is this? Can it be Spyro trying to show me the way to him?” she asked herself and started to run towards the stars.

She continued to hear his voice calling for her. She ran and ran and she could almost feel him, his voice became also higher but it was still a whisper.
Finally she found him lying on a rock but her eyes widened when she saw that he was badly bleeding.
There was blood all over his body and on the stone, he breathed heavily and tried to open his eyes.
“C-Cynder…” he said with a low voice. He could almost not breathe because of the blood in his mouth.
The black dragoness ran to him and would hold him in her paws but that would only hurt him even more so she didn’t.
“Spyro what happened?”
“It was some… wyverns… they attacked me without warning… and I got poisoned.” He then coughed a puddle of blood.
Cynder then looked around but couldn’t see them.
“Where are they now?“ she asked.
“I killed them… Sorry Cynder but I’m about to…” Spyro coughed again and more blood spilled out.
“No Spyro don’t die!” Cynder shouted to him.
Spyro then started to chuckle.
“Cynder… before I die then will I tell you a little poem that you shall remember.”
Cynder then tried to listen carefully to what he would say but her crying made it a little hard to listen.

Cynder didn’t understand and should just ask him something when he then continued.

Spyro smiled and then closed his eyes.
Cynder now realized that he was dead and started to cry louder.
“What does it mean? SPYRO!?” she cried loudly but then heard his voice again.
“Don’t worry Cynder… it means I will be a part of your spirit and talk to you at the nights… as I said ‘You’ll never be alone’ I will always be in your heart.”
Said Spyro’s voice with a whisper and Cynder moved a paw to her heart and somehow she could feel him, she could feel Spyro’s warm kindness burning in her heart.
“’When darkness comes I’ll light the night with stars’ means when you are lost in the night then will I show you the way… and ’When darkness comes you know I’m never far’ I’m just in your heart… I will never leave you.” Spyro’s corpse suddenly started to glow and then disappeared. The glow then formed on Cynder’s body.
“B-But what means the last part… ’Hear my whispers in the Dark’?” asked Cynder still confused of Spyro’s words.
Spyro let out a chuckle and then whispered to her.
“I’m doing it right now… I’m whispering to you at the night… remember Cynder you’re not alone… now let me show you the way home“ Cynder looked at the sky and again did some stars shine but this time at the east.
“I will miss you Spyro” said Cynder and a tear rolled down her cheek.
“I know… and I’m sorry that it had to end like this.” Spyro whispered.
Cynder then followed the stars while she talked with her dead mate while she could...into the night.
