Spyro 1, 2, 3 on PSP (The EASY way)

Hi guys. I recently got another PSP (I lost my old one) And Unlike My old one, It did not come alreday with M33. I was annoyed because that would mean that I'd have to do all that pandora's battery crap, right? WRONG

Heres a way to Get Custom Firmware (M33) On your PSP WITHOUT needing to OPen up your PSP and do all risky stuff, OR USE THE PLAYSTATION STORE.
NOTE: I AM NOT SURE BUT I DONT THINK THIS WILL WORK ON A 3000 and SOME 2000s (My PSP is a 2000, and it worked), Also, If you have firmware over 5.03 M33, This might not Work.

Now I know wo reing to ask "why not use the playstation Store??". Well here are the reasons:
1.Paying 7 Dollars each for 3 games you ALREADY own
2.Parents wont let you buy things online
3.Cant connect to playstation store (no wireless internet)
4.Live in Europe (Can change places to United states, I think, But im not sure)
5.Other PS1 games that you hvae might not be availible on the Playstation Store
Etc

OK. Enough Of the Jibber Jabber, Lets get started.

Firstly, you'll NEED to upbate to 5.03 SONY OFFICIAL Firmware.
HERE: http://pspslimhacks.com/index.php?dl_id=235

OK, so if you dont know alredy, Put that Eboot in a folder Called UPDATE (all CAPS) in your PSP/GAME folder (Remember to Format your memory stick when you first get your PSP)

Ok, Now that you've done that, Install ChickHEN from here:
http://pspslimhacks.com/easy-chickhen-c … t-pandora/

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THERE, THEY WIILL TELL YOU WHAT I AM ABOUT TO TELL YOU ANYWAY AND THEY WILL TELL YOU IF YOUR PSP WILL BRICK IF YOU DO THIS

Ok, Once youve installed it, GO to the photo section of your psp, Click on it and Chicken will be there. Waita  few seconds as the PSP freezes and then looks like it Glitches with flashing colours.

Your PSP will turn back on. Check your System Information to see if it says Chickhen 5.03. If it doesnt, repeat. if THAT doesnt work, PM me or levae a comment here.

Ok, Now you need to download Hellcat's recovery flasher
http://exophase.com/psp/hellcats-recove … p-6901.htm

NOTE: THIS IS OPTIONAL, It will downgrade your PSP to 3.71M33 which Will alow you to play PS1 games better than 5.00. HOWEVER, I have not tested 5.00 M33-6 to see if it plays PS1 AS well as 3.71. If you want, Try a few updates.

You will also need an Official Sony 3.71 Eboot. Download that here:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1259

NOTE: DO NOT UPDATE TO THIS FIRMWARE (You cant anyway, once your on 5.03) USE THIS UPDATE IN YOUR HELLCATS RECOVERY FLASHER INSTALLATION ONLY, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT HELLCATS RECOVERY FLASHER GIVES YOU.

Ok, Once you've succesfully downgraded to 3.71, Put your PS1 CD into your computer. And download a program like IMAGEBURN:
http://www.imgburn.com/

Rip your CD into a ROM. (NOTE: YOU CAN DOWNLOAD ROMS OFF THE INTERNET, I WILL NOT GIVE YOU THIS LINK. ANYWAY, WHILE YOU HAVE THE CD YOU DONT NEED TO DOWNLOAD ROMS ANYWAY, BUT I THINK THE PAL VERSIONS OF SPYRO2 AND 3 HAVE PROBLEMS, SO IF YOU REALLY WANTA  ROM< LOO ON THE INTERNET OR MESSAGE ME IN PRIVATE, I WILL NOT SHARE IT HERE FOR VARIOUS REASONS)

Once you have your Rom, Change it into an Eboot with Icetea:
http://www.brothersoft.com/icetea-66029.html

Ok, Now make a folder in your PSP/GAME Called "Spyro 1" (Or whatever you want for each game), Put your eboot in there and start your PSP up. go into game and WALLAH, theres your Game. Click on it and it SHOULD work

Any Questions, ask me.
IF YOUR PSP GETS BRICKED Or something I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE.

I WILL POST SOME IMAGES SOON

Re: Spyro 1, 2, 3 on PSP (The EASY way)

I'd rather not kill my PSP... Too much of a hassle... Might as well get the supported legal version for 7 bucks. But that's just my opinion.

The thread also says the easy way. Wouldn't it just be easier to buy it? I think it's more of the free way.

You already said that. But I am just saying I would rather buy it in the store.

1. You can update your PSP without fear of losing your games.
2. The store is supported.
3. $7 isn't that much money.

Re: Spyro 1, 2, 3 on PSP (The EASY way)

Theres still the fact that people in Europe Cant get at it, Parents dont like buying things online (I know my parents dont, even if its official) and some people just dont know HOw to buy things of the playstation store (Scrap the wireless internet thing, i DONT think you need it, do you?)
But yeah, I didnt havea ny games on My PSP, So thats why i didnt worry.
And If people want to put other PS1 gmaes on there, it will be 7 dollars each game. Gettinga ll 3 will cost 21 Dollars. Not much, but its worth just spending 20 minutesdoing this, and you can also play All the other great things Custom Firmware has to offer.

Re: Spyro 1, 2, 3 on PSP (The EASY way)

I can confirm you can play ps1 games with chickHEN and custom firmware enabler on psp 3000s, I just flashed my cousins psp 3000 a few days ago that has 5.03 preinstalled.

Flashing went like a charm, just like always.

Then of course, he went right to mininova to download ISOs hahaha.

Aagain, there are many reasons why someone would not like to buy things off Playsation Store. There are many people who would like an easy way to hack their PSP, As Spyrorocks said, this is simple
