Spyro's new look

I have gotten used to the way he looks. I have seen so many pictures of him I was used to it before the game even came out.

At first Spyro and Sparx's new look was a bit of an eye sore. But now I like Spyro's new look for the most part.

Sparx is okay too. He looks better than he does in previous games, in my opinion. But I get this feeling that they half *bleep*ed his design and didn't give it as much thought as they should have. At least he can talk now. I've always had trouble putting a voice to Sparx.

I'm open to new things you see.

Nah, i like him.

In 2d illustrations he reaaaaally looks U-G-L-Y and nosey...but in the gameplay he looks nice.

I'm with you Artemis, the original Spyro design is rigid, and looks rigid in the gameplay (i'm not saying it's bad, ok people?!)
but this Spyro has a softer design in the gameplay, and he looks ok for me, i would dare to say he looks better than the original Spyro on the game, but
he is way too ugly in illustrations and posters!!

I was somewhat surprised; Spyro and...pretty much everyone else, really, looked much better in-game that in the FMV cutscenes. They looked too plastic, and Spyro's face looked a lot different, more like that first screenshot that majorly bummed me out when I heard they were changing his design.

After finishing the game, I found that I didn't mind his change as much as I thought I would. And I can't say that the game was terrible. I believe that it gives a nice base for new installments of the series to build upon.
Even if all of the other games have been pretty much thrown out the window. Oh well.

So, new Spyro design: different, but I can live with it. I'm thinking of doing some fanart with all of the Spyro incarnations sitting and chatting with each other or something.

How many different Spyros are there? I see...

-Spyro the Dragon
-RR/YotD/EtD (not much difference in design)
-AHT
-LoS:ANB

I'm guessing AHT would be the biggest, and LoS the smallest. I'm not sure what StD Spyro will be doing...

He does look abit ugly on the 2D art and the 3D modals, but in the game he doesn't look too bad at all.

His new look is handsome espercially when press L1 and dodge enemy attack.

I think he looks much cooler then in the other Spyro games...but on the front page he looks a bit strange. That was the reason why I didn't want to buy this game first, but on the official Spyro page, I saw, that the game would be very good, and I changed my mind and bought it-and now I'm through^^
PS: I'm from Austria, so sometimes I'll make mistakes and so on....-hope you can understand that^^

Yeah, I thought that SPyro's new look would scare away some fans. He looks far worse on the cover than he acually does in the games.

Well, it's not my favorite game in the world. I used to hate it when there were the dumb glitches in Tall Plains, but now it's ok.

But your are right...the wings are different, the color of this Spyro is even not the same....he doesn't look like the Spyro we knew before

I wasn't too concerned about the character re-design - I was more concerned about the movie-style posters that were put up among the different animation conventions that year. Though, having heard that the game was going to be a reboot, I remained fairly open minded about any changes to the characters in particular.

Still it's something that I can live with. Personally I was more shocked about the changes that Sparx had more than Spyro, but odds are that would be just me o.O()

On the subject of the FMVs, I see peoples' opinions on them, though I somehow thought that Sparx looked a lot better through there. Maybe it was due to him being a little bit more expressive that way, as well as easier to draw, but who knows?

That's right, but I thought, Sparx talked to often in the game - during I played, he was putting on my nerves...in the games before he didn't say anything, or nearly anything.

I liked that they made Sparx talk more. It made the game more interesting, and some of his comments were funny.
