i haven't seen a screenshot of the hack. but here is the story for the hack he told me

'after shadow legacy spyro is now on vacation to the dinosaur realms but a evil creature named bowser has taken over the dinosaur realms and made the people his slaves spyro must defeat his kids and bowser to save the dinosaur realms`

that was the story for the hack

Is it the Super Mario? The original Super Mario? Okay... I'll spill the technicals. The character "Super Mario" on screen is made out of six tiles, three tiles high and two tiles wide. This is because Mario is standing on two legs and stands upright.

Spyro, on the other hand, is a quadruped, and needs a different tile layout, of 2 tiles high and three tiles wide. Hacking that game to be that way means that the collision detection may not work properly anymore. Without the collision detection, the enemies will be harmless, powerups may not be collected, game crashes, etc.

Is there a ROM download or IPS patch for me to download and analyze even further?

If he did do a rom hack, he will completely understand what I just said above.

my friend sometimes lies about things like about hacks so that maybe is fake. he also lied about a hack called spyro in sonic the hedgehog. so i got tricked

I did hack a copy of Super Mario. The only thing I did was to have the question marks turn to exclamation points.
