Wow you guys! My friend found an amazing find!!!!! She was checking out the Spyro movie site and this came out!!! YAY! ONE STEP CLOSER!!!
There's even some info!

Synopsis
A very special dragonâ€™s egg is being guarded by Ignitus. However, itâ€™s being hunted and is no longer safe. Ignitus hands the precious egg over to a woodland full of Dragonflies to keep. Knowing these creatures are peaceful and more importantly hard to find, Ignitus calls on an allegiance from their distant ancestry. The Dragonflies will protect the egg and raise the dragon as their own.

Brought up alongside Sparx, Spyro is led to believe that he himself is a dragonfly who just happens to be slightly bigger and purpler than the other dragonflies.

Until... one day the village is attacked and Spyro has been found. Instinctively using his unknown powers, Spyro
realises just how different he is. Confused and upset, he learns that he is not in fact a dragonfly, but a dragon who carries the role of being part of a great prophecy that will bring peace to all the land.

Spyro, along with his trusty sidekick Sparx pursue this epic adventure and attempt the impossible; the demise of the deadly Dark Master. However, between them stands Cynder, a very powerful black dragon powered by the red crystal around her neck, which enslaves her to the Dark Master. Eventually though, good prevails over evil and Spyro manages to overcome Cyndersâ€™ powers and destroy the red crystal. The destruction of the crystal releases all the dead from the Dark Masterâ€™s enslavement and everyone rejoices.

All seems well, as Spyro becomes a hero for saving all of dragonkind. However, lurking in the far distance we spy a swirl of cloudsâ€¦ and inside of it, two pulsing red eyes. The story continuesâ€¦

Ooooooh I want to see it even more now! There are some differences to what the story is in the game, but I guess they have to adapt it to make it suitable for the movie screens..... Oh well, I still wanna see it!

Yeah I know, but oh well, it still sounds cool! I can't wait to see especially at the new theater me and my mom discovered! That place is sooooo huge! The screens are really enormous, I mean REALLY big, and the theater room itself is huge! It felt like you were a star in that place LOL big_smile
And I also found out that it's scheduled to be released Christmas 2009!!!!

Think they'll use the same voice actors as the games?

I know! Such a long wait! But I see it as good thing also. Now I can be blabbering about something for a while and have something to look forward to and not be bored to death! XD!!!!
I think I'm going to wait a while before I get the Spyro movie on DVD, I don't want to get it at such a high price. =p
And I hope they do! Elijah Wood is good for Spyro!

As long as they don't sound completely different I don't mind what voices they use, Spyro is Spyro. I hope they also give you the option of watching the movie not in 3D. I watched Spy-Kids 3 in 3D and the glasses hurt my eyes after a while (one eye red and one eye blue I will never get used to!) so I took them off, but the screen was all fuzzy and strange without them on.

3-D, eh? I've never seen a movie in 3-D. The closest I've ever gotten was the thing at Animal Kingdom at Disney World.
Christmas '09 ... Quite a while away. I'll be in college by then ... So long away.

I saw it on DarkSpyro.net. They confirmed that it's scheduled for release on Christmas 2009

I just hope my cousin hasn't lost interest in Spyro by then. tongue (He just turned nine, so it could happen.) Right now he's very excited about DotD and the movie, and we have agreed we're going to see the movie together. XD

i really want to see this movie!!

it must really be hard on the creators because they have to work with the appearance and movement of the characters and along with that its probably taking a long time because theres alot of characters and they have to make the finishing touches in the final months like adding the voices and other things like that :-P
