Is Ignitus Spyro's father?? I think I might have something for you to prove it

Or that Ignitus himself doesn't know.

When did Spyro say he had no family left? Was it in one of the hand held versions?

it was in the console version (gamecube to be exact) he didnt really say "I have no family left" he said "and your telling me that I have no family left..." bla bla bla, atleast thats what I remmember x] maybe my conclusion was wrong :-P

but...how could he not know? lol, just a question :-P im kinda slow

Ignitus: Yes. There were.

Spyro: Temple? What temple? Can you take me, can I see it? Where I came from. *later* I just find out that I'm this special dragon, and you tell me all is lost, that I have no home or family left? I've come way too far to give up now. I want to see where I come from.

He was more confused about having no dragon relatives left, at least as far as he knew, so it would seem. Ignitus doesn't say that Spyro has no family, and Spyro seems more bewildered about suddenly not being a dragonfly than anything else. big_smile

They might as well reveal that Ignitus is Spyro's father, I say big_smile . They hint at it way too much. Honestly, if Ignitus isn't Spyro's father, they need to make them look less alike tongue .

Furthermore, if Ignitus isn't Spyro's father, it doesn't matter who is - because they still have the father-son <i>bond</i>, and that matters more than the actual biological relation. I feel nothing for my biological father, so I can back that up with personal experience.

So in short - I think Ignitus is most definitely Spyro's father, and if he's not... here's what I think would happen:

Since there's only one female dragon we've seen so far and she's way too young, his mother is some female dragon we haven't met (and who is probably dead).

What if they stuck to the old breeding mechanics of the old game and made it so they can't breed but the eggs are made by magic? (Don't know about the fairies bringing them because you'd think there'd be some fairies around in that case. Maybe they all died. *shrug*)

Heh, on the subject of magic eggs I made this little thing a while ago while I was practicing drawing the Tristan character. (It was done as quick as possible as a curse of an animation student, so it's really sketchy, sorry.)

I always did think the whole "fairies bring the eggs" thing was like what your parents tell you about the stork come true.

Wait a minute... more proof would be Spyro's name. Spyro is named that because Spyro-S= Pyro, which means extreme heat. I know they aren't the ones who gave Spyro the name, but they could've turned it into that.

yeah, I also think it's very possible. The first and most obvious clue was that Spyro had mastered fire first, which might be his original element. I can just feel it. <3

he could be he could have been one of the mates and the mother had spyros egg tongue so for all we know he very well could be because the guardiand were watching over him and the other eggs in the first scene so for all we know the guardians could have been the fathers to all the eggs (as in they were the mates to the females) wink

i think Ignitus is Spyro's father. Number 1, they look alike. Number 2, in DOTD where Ignitus sacrafices himself, he kinda drops a hint from my perspective, Number 3, the way they act around each other clearly shows a father-son bond even if they dont realize it.
