Even if we try not to fall, one day or another we slip even the tinyest fraction, if we didnt, we would never know how to pick ourselves up to keep moving out of all the darkness and trouble that follows us where we go.

Re: what about a spyro game for the ipod
i cant imagine it working very well, the controls wouldnt be great and graphics would likely be pretty lame
why not just buy a DS theyre not that expensive and you can play all the GBA/DS spyro games on it
alternatively if youre really wanting to spend money then a psp could probably play the GBA/DS games on an emulator, and the same with the original playstation games

Re: what about a spyro game for the ipod
well i dont own an ipod to be honest and ive never seen the games on them but i can say that sonic games primarily require left or right and jump buttons, rare moments in sonic games might require some other buttons im not sure, i just dont see spyro being that simple to implement, from what i hear they tried to do something like this on mobiles and they didnt turn out too good (probably a matter of opinion)
besides, psps can be used as mp3/4 players and so can DS' with a bit of tweaking
jeeze anyone would think i worked for sony or nintendo

Re: what about a spyro game for the ipod
yea but what if they made it that if u press two or so puttens like on the ds
then u do the cool moves, that way it could work. they have even made a LOST game for the ipod.

Probably because that LOST is so popular?
Anyway, I'd pick a PSP over an iPod any day. I can do a lot on it. You can play the orignal 3 on it, MP3s, videos, internet and others.

Sonic is only on the iPod because it is an incredibly simple game. It doesn't take too much space or need too much processing power. Spyro games, however do. I can see maybe a port of the Cell Phone games to iPod, but nothing else.
Also, doppel, the PSP fails because I can get a Blackberry or P DA (in which I can do all the same things with) for cheaper. XD

No, CynderSparx... They were just talking about if one is to be made...

Not really. The Blackberry or a PDA can't play Insomniac Spyro or run an emulator for GBA Spyros.
The iPhone/iPod Touch is said to play PS1 games/Insomniac Spyros, according to Engadget, but it's impractically slow and requires hacking of the device's firmware.

i dont see why that would be, my computer runs GBA and DS games and they arent the most difficult things to run, i dont see why a PDA couldnt play them too
PS1 games however do, for whatever reason, seem to take up a lot of space and memory etc.
also id like to see some price comparisons of blackberries and PSPs
over here a PSP is around $300 i didnt think id find a PDA or blackberry for less than that

Re: what about a spyro game for the ipod
To Fletch:
A PDA has a core speed of 312 MHz (this is a Blackberry). The PSP has a core speed of 333 MHz. The PDA *seems* to match the capabilities of the PSP, but the RAM of the PDA is less, and the PDA has no GPU at all or has a limited GPU.
And no EMUs for the GBA and PS1 show up on Google.

Re: what about a spyro game for the ipod
hmmm i searched "can i play GBA games on my PDA" (3rd link from the top) and found a site with 4 PDA compatible GBA emulators (obviously i cant test them since i dont own a PDA)
one is called PocketGBA and another is MorphGear, both are free with the option to pay for extra features, technically the free version of morphgear only plays 8 bit games, but you can pay $20 each to upgrade it to play GBA GBC SNES NES etc.
as for the PS1, yeah i agree a PDA couldnt play them, unless it was some super powerful one that only the government have access to (its a conspiracy)
Edit: hmmm pirates... interesting

Re: what about a spyro game for the ipod
I don't think there will ever be a Spyro for Ipod. However, a Spyro game for the Iphone is a possibility. I have Super Mario Bros. on my Iphone.

Re: what about a spyro game for the ipod
Spyro on the iPod would be weird. It would probably be as successful as the "dress up for the fairy ball with Spyro" game. Whatever it is.

Re: what about a spyro game for the ipod
maby if they made a thing to plug in in the pottem for more controles.
that would make it better

Re: what about a spyro game for the ipod
No one buys add-ons like that. Most people would prefer to use a DS or PSP for games, not an ipod.

And an iPod isn't designed for games anyway.

Re: what about a spyro game for the ipod
I am making an iPhone (and iPod touch) Spyro game...
It's going to be 3d, about 70 MB and it is going to use the touch screen.
I can't sell it, but I can e-mail it to you guys when it's done...

Ipod touch cannot play games unless you hack into it.
