Which graphics do you prefer? Does anyone else think that the TLoS style looks a bit too bright?

I would get used to it. Graphics are going to keep getting better. I like new, realistic graphics.

I'm fine with the graphics (and if it was the over-brightness on the screenshots for DotD you had a problem with, they've already fixed it.)

I actually find the origanals graphics brighter myself. But i like both graphics. TLOS graphics are obviously going to be better but i still like the origanals.

it depends, graphics cant usually just be called "better"

for example, GTA4 amazing, real to life graphics they look awesome... but i think mario galaxy looks more awesome, theyre more imaginative, they stimulate the mind and imagination more, theyre colourful and fun and a pleasure to look at

as with most things, its about personal opinion, more powerful, doesnt always equal better

If we're just talking about graphics, then I'd go with TLoS without hesitation!

But I like the happy environment of the originals.

yeah, DOTD graphics look a bit bright, but they'll probably fix that. ANB and TEN didn't seem bright too bright to me though, the original had brighter colours and stuff than ANB or TEN.

but anyway, i prefer TLOS graphics to the original's graphics, simply because they're newer, and more realistic (I dont mean realistic characters or anything like that, i mean more lifelike). Design is another story though.

For me it depends. (this is going to be really hard to explain)
Like for certain games, like spyro or crash, since they do lots of weird cartoony stuff (like their eyes grow to the size of watermelons or stretching limbs for some odd reason) looks good with um...old PS1 graphics(?)
But for games with lots of (lets say) "serious" explosions or other stuff that looks pretty, like...final fantasy, then the up-to-date graphics are good. smile

But thats just me. hmm

Doppel...the top one sticks out more because its more blocky with colors, the bottom is smoother looking and doesnt stand out as much.

Parotia: I've seen games like R&C and such which have pretty good graphics for that kind of game, but not everyone can be insomniac games!

TLoS has better graphics as far as things like polygon count and framerate go, no contest.

However, I gotta say their version of spyro and sparx are hideous looking, polygons can't help a disgusting design.

Also, better graphics doesn't mean better, not to mention more focus needs to go on stylization as opposed to the realism. Just look at Mario Galaxy, The Wind Waker, etc.
