My program called Gadwin Printscreen takes care of everything for me.
When opened and the settings are correct, I just press a button and the wolf is saved.

Or, you could simply hit the Print Screen key, and that brings the area onto your clipboard. Then, put the image into Photoshop (be aware that it'll also have the background of dA, the tabs, etc.) and then use the selection tool to surround the wolf. Click on the 'Edit' toolbar, go to copy (or cut) then make a new file, but make the new one larger than the pre-set dimensions, then, paste the image on their, use the selection tool, free transform, and then make the image larger. Simple as that.

My character was originally just the two-toned purple. Thanks to that interactive dA thing, she's a brain spazz on legs.
