Re: Ratchet's Spyro Game

Cloud Homeworld Level 3:

Stormy Summit

Rocky cliff sides criss-cross eachother and bridges fill in gaps between cliff as Spyro navigates this mountain nghtmare. Black clouds swirl around in the sky as the young dragon dodges falling bolders and collapsing cliffs. every once and awhile, lightning strikes and destroys a tree. At the top is an electric factory similar to the Hurricos one. Lightning rods stick out everywhere and giant pistons pound up and down. Most of the lightning is directed here. The music is similar to Spyro 1's Blowhard boss level.

Enemies:

Zap Pig:
A pig that runs around with a lightning rod attached to its back. If it hits Spyro, he is shocked and the pig explodes. The pig will run in a straight line until it reaches a wall, then it turns around.

Evil Bat:
Evil bats with glowing red eyes. They fly out from above and attack Spyro. A bigger, but rare, version will pick spyro up and try to drop him to do damage. The player has to repeatedly hit the jump button to escape.

Wild Dog:
These guys guard the bridges and factory. They will be either be awake or sleeping. If they are sleeping, Spyro has to come near to wake them up. They attack lunging at Spyro. Spyro must flame then, becuase charging won't work.

Clockwork Guard:
Big, four armed robot with turning gears stick out of their backs. They try to charge at Spyro, who has to jump over them. They are asleep first, but when Spyro comes near they are shocked by lightning and come to life. They guard the factory.

Re: Ratchet's Spyro Game

Ice Homeworld Level 3:

Lost Cavern

A giant, underground ice cavern that holds a lost city. To get to the frozen island that the city is on, Spyro has to travel across smaller islands with small ruins. Each of these are connected by ancinet, stone bridges. Once reaching the city, Spyro must navigate the iced over streets and jump over frozen rooftops. The final part of the level takes place in a series of icey towers the Spyro must travel up to reach the portal at the top of a bell tower. The music is mysterious and icey sounding.

Enemies:

Ice Tortoise:
These tortoise-like creatures are adapted to thrive in extreme cold. These creatures have frozen shells and bluish-green skin. They will walk slowly back and forth, and will turn back if they reach a wall. If Spyro comes near, they retract into their shell and spikes pop out of the top. Spyro is damaged if he touches the spikes. The Ice Tortoise can not be killed

Cave Brute:
These Gnorc-like creature are short, fat, and stubby. Their skin color ranges from black to blue to green. This kind of Cave Brute uses a sword as a weapon. They swing it at Spyro, who has to dodge it. They can be killed with either flame or charge.

Rocketluancher Cave Brute:
Same race as the Cave Brute. These Brutes wear metal armor and have to be charged. Their weapon is a snowball rocketluancher. They fire an exploding snowball which does damage to Spyro. The snowball goes in a straight line and makes a big explosion when it comes in contact with a wall or Spyro. After a snowball, the Brute takes a second to reload. This is when Spyro has to attack.

Spectre:
These ghostly creatures hide in the ruins and pop out when Spyro comes near. They fly at Spyro to hit him. If they miss, then they fly off screen and don't come back. These enemies are in all of the ruins, but they are concentrated especially in the towers near the end of the level.

Re: Ratchet's Spyro Game

Yeah. You'll have loooots of fun creating the graphics for that level. That's gonna be pretty hard.

I'm coming up with another idea right now.

Re: Ratchet's Spyro Game

Volcano Homeworld Speedway:

Wild Speedway

A red sun sets on a large, circular, desert canyon. Pipes criss-cross over the canyon, all pumping lava to the giant reactor sitting on a platuea in the middle. Spyro has to fly around, dodging pipes. At the bottom of the canyon is a river of lava which Spyro must skirt along and shoot his target. Music is fast paced and a mixture of wild west and techno.

Targets:

Rings:
Spyro must fly through 8 of these big, blue rings. If he flies through one, it glows then fades. Alot of these are along the lava river.

Vultures:
Spyro has to flame all 8 of these ugly, black birds.

Hover Bikes:
Ugly gnorc-like creatures ride around on hover bikes along the bottom of the canyon. Spyro has to kill all 8 of them

Pipes:
To stop the reactor, Spyro has to flame all 10 of these pipes. When he hits one, it explodes and starts spilling lava.

Re: Ratchet's Spyro Game

all are good, wait wasn't canyon speedway a speedway in spyro 2 or am i halusinating
Sunset speedway sounds good though, i'll put that in

IN OTHER NEWS
YAY
i have finally worked out the story
heres how it begins

The game begins with the waves of dragon shores crashing into the shore, it shows apocolopse productions (the name of my proposed game company name) then it says "spyrorocks games"or whoever my publisher is (if i made it in the future it will have to be VU neutral  )
then it says the title of my game (working title)

now the screen turns around to 4 deck chairs, we can hear something talking really fast.
the camera reverts infrount of spyro and sparx who are on a deckchair each
sparx: so, i really love beeatle burgers cause there made of beatles and butterflies and you know what butterflies do...
sparx gets interupted by spyro
spyro: Just cause the professer made you a potion so you can speak, doesn't mean you have to blabber on.
another deckchair with hnter on it is now reveled, next to his deckchair is the last deckchair with bianca on it.
hunter: why dont we play eye spy?
sparx: ok, i'm first, uhhhhh i spy with my little eye, something that is blue.
spyro: ummmmm, the water?
sparx: arrrgggh, he got it first go
spyro : ok, my turn, i spy with my little eye, somethings thats orange
Bianca: that baloon?
spyro: no
Hunter :my fur
spyro: uhhhh, your fur's yellow
hunter: oh yeah
Bianca:why dont we do something else?
sparx: what do YOU suppose?
Bianca:lets just sit back and relax
Everyone goes quiet.

Suddenly, the portal back to Artisans next to them goes blank
Hunter: What the?
Then another portal in it's place appears and out comes a familiar object
spyro, sparx and hunter: ELORAA???
Yes it was elora, nearly in the same shape as she looked, 6 months ago when she visited spyro when he was at agent 9 labs just after his clash with the sourcerous.
Elora: We dont have much time, you need to come with me
Bianca: who's she?
Bianca is now looking at hunter with a strange look on her face
Hunter: oh look a portal
Says hunter trying to change the subject.
in order, spyro, sparx, hunter run through the portal
Biance:*sigh*
Bianca then walks in

Thats the first cutscene, find out what happens next in my next post on this topic, sometime later today or tommorow or something

Re: Ratchet's Spyro Game

Grass Homeworld Level 2:

Firefly Gardens

Blissful islands float in the night sky as Spyro glides between the floating gardens. Little fireflies light up the night as they buzz around the islands. Peaceful waterfalls flow off off gardens and into rivers of the other islands. Beuatiful, lush plants cover the islands as Spyro traverses them like jungles. For extra light, there are path lamps Spyro can light with his fire breath. The very highest island holds a glowing altar, which contains the portal to the exit. The islands described here are similar to the Spyro 1 Lofty Castle level. The music is peaceful, mystical, and similar to the Spyro 1 Dark Hollow level.

Enemies:

Toad:
These toads aren't normal toads. Their skin color is a dark green with black spots, and they are very aggressive. They will attack Spyro by flicking their toungue out at hitting him. Spyro can kill them with either a flame or a charge. The toad moves horizontal until it reaches a wall, then it turns around. The toad also eats fireflies.

Night Hawk:
These stealthy brids fly through the night sky, searching for prey. The feather colors of the Night Hawk are dark gold and dark blue. When it spots a target, namely Spyro, the Night Hawk swoops down and picks it up. Spyro is to big for it to grab, so the Night Hawk can scratch and damage him. Spyro can only flame these birds.

Giant Spider:
These creepy crawlies hide in their webs, waiting for prey to pass through. They a very big and are dark red with dark blue spots. When Spyro or another creature passes through one of their nearly invisible webs, it crawls from its hiding spot and attacks its prey. To escape, Spyro has to hold down charge long enough to break free. The Giant Spider can only be flamed.

Guardian:
These big, gnorc-like creatures are heavily armored and carry big hammers. They only appear a few times in the level and are usually near the altar at the end. The guardian walks slowly back and forth, turning whenever reaches a wall. When it detects Spyro, it will turn to attack him. The Guardian attacks by smashing Spyro flat with his hammer, and it takes Spyro a couple seconds to recover. The only way to kill the guardian is charge or flame his back.

Re: Ratchet's Spyro Game

Darkness Homeworld Level 2:

Bone Pits

This vile canyon is shrouded by a cloak of smog. The sky is totally black out by smoke that is poured out of the factory sitting the very middle of the pits. Dragon bones lay everywhere, ranging from complete skeletons to piles of rotting bones. Spyro must traverse over pits of dark oil and through mazes of fallen dragons. The constant screech of the primitive inhabitants fill the air, spreading fear into the hearts off the anybody who trespasses. A rare peak of the sky through the smog just shows a blood red sun that appears to be on its last breath. The dragon bones make good bridges to cross the oil pits. The music has a dark techno feel with lots of evil sounding bass drums.

Enemies:

War Ape:
These ape-like creatures dwell among the bones of long dead creatures. They use anything they can find to survive. The War Ape is brown in color. Usually there will be two or three at the same time. They sit still until one of them detects Spyro. Then all of the nearby War Apes charge at Spyro at once, swinging bones like clubs. they can be killed by charge or flame.

Monster Ape:
These big guys are the same as War Apes but alot stronger. They are blue in color instead of brown, and wear a skull and ribcages like a helmet and armor. They are constantly moving around, and attack when they detect Spyro. They will trample the smaller War Apes when in attack mode. The Monster Ape can only be killed with a flame to the back.

Dark One:
Dark Ones are similar to walking dead. But they aren't brought back by a spell, they are brought back to life by the dark oil. sometimes when Spyro nears a pool or pit of oil, one or more Dark Ones will crawl out. These guys are basically a skeleton with some oil drenched flesh still hanging off their bodies. They are very slow and can easily be charged or flamed. But if Spyro stalls for too long, he may be attacked by their viciously sharp claws.

Battle Tank:
These powerful mechanisms are rare and difficult to defeat. Each tank patrols a small area, turning back when it reaches the end of its patrol. If one detects Spyro, it proceeds to fire a machine gun at him. If Spyro comes too close, it reverts to an extremly powerful flamethrower. To kill it, Spyro has to charge it several times. The flamethrower makes this very diffucult, becuase you only have a second to attack before the tank turns and flames you.

Are you really going to be able to make these? The visuals are very demanding and the enemies are super-complex.

Cloud Homeworld Speedway:

Lofty Speedway

Fluffy clouds swirl around the sky as a beautiful sun gives rays of pink orange light that tints the clouds. Suspended in the air by several clouds is a castle that branches off into several towers. Each tower is suspended by a cloud and the big section the middle is suspended by its own cloud too. Spyro must fly through the arches of the castle, shooting his targets with his fire breath. The music is magical and mystical sounding and is like something that came out of Spyro 1's Magic Crafters.

This is what I imagined the castle to be look like (on land), except the arches are strechted out farther and are all side of the castle:

4msrk3t.jpg

Targets:

Rings:
Spyro must fly through 8 of these big, red rings. If he flies through one, it glows then fades. Alot of these are under the castle arches.

Wizards:
These pesky wizards wear green robes and walk along the castle bridges. Spyro has to flame all 8 of them.

Biplanes:
The air raiders have been invading the castle all week. Take out all 8 of them.

Torches:
Unlit torches are scattered along the castle. Help out by flaming all 10 of them.

Lofty means high in the air or floating. Look in a dictionary if you want more info.

I'll be posting another level tommorow.
