eh...okay, why obstacles when you can fly??
When you see some previews, reviews, gamplay, trailers, etc..
you see alot of obstacles, like you have to knock down a tree to get to the other side, or you have to jump from platform to platform to get to the other side....
but why??? Spyro and Cynder can fly now, can they?:P
so they'll just have to fly to the other side without having to bring down a tree to run over....
like in some clips in this gameplay:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nsGaiSJxqc
in the "Enchanted Forest", you have to knock down a tree, but you can just fly over the river to get to the other sideXD
It's not bad or anything, I always say, the more obstacles, the better;) (and it always gives a nice decoration in each level too!)
but it's just silly....if you think about it...:P

That is really odd. It bugged me in ANB how he could fly, but chose not to. He could only fly if he "cleared his mind" or something. You're on the ground whacking a bunch of monkeys, and you could just fly right over them.

For example, you must carry an Item to a locked door in the first Level to open it! Spyro can´t fly very well this time, so you have to activate an Switch with your Electric Breath to activate some Platforms to jump over!
I like that Platforming elements, i think only flyning would be boring very fast!

Re: eh...okay, why obstacles when you can fly??
Someone explained to me how the trees could be something for a cheetah ally, which would make sense. I have no idea about the platforms though, it doesn't seem to me like they are restricted of flying indoors; but maybe they're limited in certain places? Like in Spore, you can only flap your wings for a certain number of times before your creature tires, or in Zelda: Wind Waker, when you are controlling Medli or Makar you can fly with them for a certain period of time until the bar runs out and they tire. Either way, I think this would suck if it were right. If you're going to make a flight-based game, focus entirely on exploring with the flying.

hmm.....nice thinking.
maybe you're right, so the dragons can only flap their wings some times, till they get tired.
I hope not, because I would be nice to fly all the time anywhere you want. but on the other side, it would be too easy...

I remember reading that the only limit to the flying is how high you can go
