Malefor's Fireballs....don't listen to the strategy guide.

The strategy guide might say to use the dodge feature, but don't. Instead use cynder's shadow element. There might not be any ground, but you don't need it. the Shadow element uses a lot of mana, but don't wait until they're right on top of you because they'll turn around and get you. Instead stay as close as you can to Malefore, far away enough so he can't melee you. And when he turns his head to the side and you hear him breath in like he getting ready to blow his nose, use cynders shadow ability and go through the fireballls. They won't have enought time to come around and hit and the the second it take for malefor to recover can give you that chance to get those much needed health and mana crystals from malefor.

Purple Dragon King was a name I developed over time as I began to go from closet Spyro fan to open Spyro fan. It has significance to me not just because of Spyro but it is also my favorite color and my first girlfriend called me by PDK. So next time you see my post think of the king of purple!!!!!!!

I found the dodging rather helpful, actually, plus I tend to get right on top of Malefor and beat the living crap out of him.

Re: Malefor's Fireballs....don't listen to the strategy guide.

my plan for all the malefor rounds is to stock up on fury, get the armor pieces for dark fury and purple fury for cynder and spyro, use the fury until it runs out, then go behind him and beat the crap outta him, he can't hurt you from behind easily (you get the armor in various places but you get the last pieces in "burned lands"...this works for me since this is a "beat me up" style fight

my mind gives me great assuptions,
I will use it in my power to use it

(really, hours of just thinkingmakes you a wise person)

I just stayed close to him and didn't let up on the melee attacks, using fury breath when I had mana. big_smile

Heres a tip do not use magic on him instead use shadow walk and pop close attack and dodge out of the way when he does his breath then go back and keep doing the same thing the crystals will keep you happy and if you got the mana bracelet use it you can out do his moves and get too the next stage were you have a ground too use big_smile

Well, after the first part of the fight, I found the defensive armor set worked better (Health regeneration = win)

Re: Malefor's Fireballs....don't listen to the strategy guide.

Lol. I just stayed on his back for the most part, or behind him, and kept using strong attacks, or an occasional comet dash(or whatever), then quickly dodged when he used melee. It's really easy that way. Beat it the 3rd time on my first fight with him. Then later got the Dragon Assasin Achievment for Xbox 360 for killing him without dying on my 3rd fight with him.

Re: Malefor's Fireballs....don't listen to the strategy guide.

I just spammed Spyro's Snowstorm and Cynder's Whirlwind attacks until I ran out of mana, then just melee'd him 'till I got some mana back. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.

The only part that proved troublesome for me is when he gets his fury shield up. After I died a couple dozen times I just turned on the infinite mana cheat and blasted him.

When he shields himself keep attacking your fury will fill and then use your final fury attack on him big_smile

Also watch out for his attacks but keep attacking build up the Fury meter then use the Fury's breaths. And that should be it.

Re: Malefor's Fireballs....don't listen to the strategy guide.

For the first one, just charge that apocalyptic freak. I found it suprisingly easy.

Second part was a good challange, but it's best to take the the skies and pummel him from behind when possible. When the ice starts flying, start doing random dodges to evade the ice. Then just pummmel him with everything you got.

Last bit took a mix of fury and timing, but yeah, beat the crap out of his butt when you don't got fury, then fury him to death. Then just hope you get the buttons right (Spyro's move has barely a moment to fire), and once that's done, enjoy the ending.

*cocks shotgun* Simple in theory, but can be a bit time consuming in reality.
