Re: My Review of The Eternal Night (The worst Spyro game ever)
I loved TEN, but I hated how it was rushed. The enemies and bosses were the same, but with a different model or skin over them... THAT is what made me the most angry.

Re: My Review of The Eternal Night (The worst Spyro game ever)
I [know] that all the Spyro games were just awesome. My friends, all of you have been too critical on judging these games. The creaters did a great job at building each Spyro game. Some of you couldn't even come up with a storyline close to being as epic as the Spyro series was. If in the beginning of the game you don't like it, upgrade your powers, and you WILL end up liking it in the end.
So please stop hating. I love the Spyro series, and so should you.
God bless, Swaffy.

Except the LoS series has borrowed so much from past storylines, hence why people think it's cliché. It's cool if you enjoy them anyway, but seriously suggesting that people haven't done or could come up with anything better is just being delusional.

And everything was done by early enough in history that writters in anchient Egypt complained that everything had been done. And he said some people here, not that no one could.

Re: My Review of The Eternal Night (The worst Spyro game ever)
And I didn't say nobody. It's one thing for an "epic" storyline to be similar to another, but having the same overused pacing, twists, character purposes and other formulas that have been done to an extent is what is considered a clichè. (Then again, the japanese do the exact same thing with their animes most of the time, but hardly anyone seems to rag on them.) And if it was unintentional, which I doubt for a professional field, then it's just poorly researched.

[sub]I disagree. I don't like the games, and nothing anyone says is going to change that. I dislike that style of gameplay, among other reasons. Why can't people accept that simple reason? And yes, I did level up my breaths. T__T
You're allowed your opinion and I'm allowed mine, so please stop trying to force yours down other people's throats. [/sub]

Re: My Review of The Eternal Night (The worst Spyro game ever)
This game was... a little below "Alright." I liked the challenge, I managed to get Dark Spyro and all that jazz, guess it was good and all, but in my opinion;
1 - Storyline was FAR from original. Oh, well of souls, the oh so mighty purple greedy dragon of doom, the total eclipse that shall kill everyone LOLS.
No.
Just no, lol.
But know what? Spyro Game Plots were never really... "original" from the beginning.
But the games themselves STILL made them amazing. So the plot would be left aside, kinda. I didn't care much for the plot of any Spyro game since the gameplay would make me give a 10 out of 10 without a doubt for the first three and A Hero's Tail.
2 -
The scenarios.
"I have seen this before."
Well, crap, they appear 24/7.
What I mean is, the landscapes in this game were completely repetitive. You had... what? This bigarse swamp place that lasted 1/3 of the game, then this... pirate area that lasted a 1/3 of it once again, then the final area that lasted the last 1/3. All of them but the Pirate one were dark and similar, I honestly wasn't feeling the magic there.
3 - Dude, this bugged me so bad. Fights don't have to be fair, of course, but come on, you are THIS far of winning something and you get thrown off the edge of the platform with all your health bar and magic bar full? That just ticked me off so bad lol, I hated it. I loved the challenge it gave, though, but more than once I believe I might have kicked my desk and get the urge to throw my controller against the T.V screen.
4 - This was not the fault of the game, but of the trilogy itself.
Talking Sparx.
...
lolwut?
Dude, that was just something that put me down SO horribly! I had the vision of Sparx as a buzzing companion, or at least keeping the shape of a normal dragonfly, but come on, buffed up body, cracking jokes that even if they were alright they just... didn't fit for the ones who have the original aura of the Spyro sagas and series, the nice good ol' quiet non-understandable lil' Sparxy Sparx. That was a mistake, to give him such a personality, in my opinion. I just was not used to it I guess, but I lived with it.
To be honest, I did not enjoy this game as much as I enjoyed a Hero's Tail and the first three Spyro games. I never played A New Beginning, don't think I will really, I'm just looking forward for Dawn of the Dragon now.
THIS WAS MY OPINION. No flaming please. xD
For me, Spyro: The Eternal Night is a 5/10.
props to the dude from DA.

Re: My Review of The Eternal Night (The worst Spyro game ever)
Gameplay: What? Oh yeah, the thing they forgot to make fun. The game is very long, boring, long, and hard, did I mention the levels are long? The game is way too challanging, infact, you will be stuck not even half way rhorugh the game, then the next boss will be hard, then the next...
Anyway, you control Spyro, no one else, and you can jump, breath "magic" as they describe it in the game, do a very hard to control charge attack, and your melee attacks. I seriously could care less for the Wii controls, so I use the classic controller (the only good idea put into this stupid game). If you played A New Beginning, there is nothing new when it comes to controls. Just the stupid cammera will kill the whole game, oh, did I metion there is a flashing light flickering when you turn the camera? I heard a few Pokemon episodes were banned due to light flickering, which caused death to a few viewers. Now I just don't want to turn on the news for a while. Let's refer to this Spyro as Spyro the Killer.
And we have a critique!
First of it is no where near the worst!(Talk to mr Etd) second, people need a challenge!I think the gameplay isn't hard either (Pretty easy actually)Story: The story is very nice actually, although is very confusing. First of all, Spyro has lost his powers after defeating Cynder in A New Beginning. Now that Cynder is free from the Dark Master, she is small and good. What happens now? She leaves the temple for no reason I can explain right now. When Spyro goes back to the temple, it gets attacked. What happens next, well, you'll have to see...
Overall: WHAT DID I JUST BUY???
This purple dragon gets a 4/10. FAILURE IS THE ONLY OPTION NOW!!!

1 - Storyline was FAR from original. Oh, well of souls, the oh so mighty purple greedy dragon of doom, the total eclipse that shall kill everyone LOLS.
The Well of Souls was made out to be a reasonable place for an evil being to return to life, the eclipse is to be the time, and the purple dragon is not greedy, so far as we know.

Read the title of the game.

So far as I can tell, that is not more of a problem than it has been in every other Spyro game.
4 - This was not the fault of the game, but of the trilogy itself.
Talking Sparx.
Talking Sparx > Health Meter Sparx. (particularly in significance to the plot, to which this statement is a fact)

Uh, I am not willing to debate or something.
It was my opinion and I clearly stated it as soon as I finished my post.
1 - I know that, I just pretty much believed the plot could have been 100 times better.
And as far as I understood, the "purple dragon" was exiled because of abusing the elements he was capable of using, or something like that. My english is not perfect, by saying "Greedy" I meant that.
2 - "The Eternal Night" does not mean, by ANY way, that the scenarios have to be all the same and look the same.
Night time can be present, but scenarios can differ.
Always.
3 - I never mentioned Sparx's actual presence and role in the previous games. The voice and attitudes given to the new Sparx simply do not fit in my opinion.
Again, it was my opinion. Only that.
o-o

Re: My Review of The Eternal Night (The worst Spyro game ever)
I thought it was pretty repetitive too. p: Enemy concepts, sounds, and I think a little bit of music was repeated too. Say, the Ravage Rider. Was almost EXACTLY like Steam and the Conductor from ANB. Those elemental bosses at the ends of the challenges were basically the same as the Ice King. Arborick might as well have been the Stone Sentinel. The pirates could have been the three sizes of Apes in costumes.
Throughout the game, they hardly go into anything that's going on on Gaul's side of the game. There's not much interaction between Spyro and the Guardians, unlike ANB, where there were Guardian discussions.
I won't go much further, can't think much about this game right now. p:
Behind your fairy tale forever and ever. <3~
Take some time to look through my gallery! ;D (Trust me, it's not all Invader Zim -- there IS some rather popular Spyro pics) http://kalliahverkauf.deviantart.com

Re: My Review of The Eternal Night (The worst Spyro game ever)
Just finished the game this weekend, so here's my two cents.
My expectations going into it were very low, but I must admit I didn't hate it half as much as I thought I would. However, that does not make it what I would call a good game.
Mainly, it was too repetitive, too linear, and too easy. Granted, there were parts of the game that made me want to tear my hair out because I had to do them over and over, but I wouldn't call it "hard", just frustrating. Most of the time, if you're in a tight situation, you can just use fury to get out of it, and if not, it isn't that hard to repeat. At one point, I handed the controller to my eleven-year-old sister (who has played very few video games and exactly zero combat ones), and even she was able to defeat all the enemies easily. I didn't even tell her the controls; she basically just pressed random buttons. My conclusion: the gameplay takes almost no skill and is almost all "button mashing".
The story was OK, but not really what I'd call epic. DDR and I both had a good laugh at the "poem" in the Chronicler's world ("pathways unfold, lost is found. Prove your worth with quick desire...") What does that even mean? It seemed like they just strung some random words together that happened to rhyme. Yes, the story was cliche, but that wasn't so much of an issue. It just annoyed me how hard they tried to make the story seem epic when it's really just a dragon kids' game.
Anyway, that's my opinion. First person to attack me gets banned. (kidding.)

Re: My Review of The Eternal Night (The worst Spyro game ever)
I'm feeling daring today... (Attacks)
I forgot about all of the poem stuff...I didn't make much out of it either, but it reinforced the "This place is creepy" vibe very well.
I actually need to go get it again now, wish I'd just bought it when I had the chance.
Also, you do need a bit of... strategy(?) when fighting things like the blundertails and the bosses (though they made the bosses not as fun to fight in the 2nd game)
Oh great, my lighthouse is on fire again, be right back...

Re: My Review of The Eternal Night (The worst Spyro game ever)
I've heard a lot of people complain about that one part on the ship with a bunch of monkeys and two dudes that threw purple aura things, I forget. Am I the only one that just stood next to the unlimited mana crystal in a corner and mashed triangle ice attack to death?
