DOTD like prince of persia?

Well when i first started the game i noticed some minor similarities from the
two games
1st off the far off graphics are the same (guessing they used the same coding)
2nd after playing some more i noticed a few more that i can't remember
note:(i have a horrible memory)
i noticed that when you fight a boss you have to press the correct button
in the small cut-scenes to get to the next phase just like prince of persia
Hopefully its just me that is noticing all these things
but i do remember a lot of similarities for i have beaten both games

It's impossible to make a game nowadays without having some kind of cliche or similarity to another game...we have been fighting over this for a month now lol...I personally didn't think it was that much similar...and even if it was I wouldn't care really lol...as long as it's an enjoyable game.

Consider the possibilities of what lol...that it looks like or plays like another game lol...what real good can come from that...I'm pretty sure that no designer seeks to copy another...take ideas sometimes...certainly....but again as long as it's enjoyable I'm all set.

who knows maybe they did use the same language for coding the game
maybe thats why they look soo alike

It has quicktime events, which have been featured in some games.

Otherwise, I'd just say it's coincidence that it looks anything like PoP.

Of corse it is. There have been so many games that it is very near to impossible that something hasn't been done already.

We are going to try and argue about this whole cliche thing again...jeez there really is no point to it lol....if you can give me one game that doesn't feature an element from another in story and gameplay then I would be impressed...but all the games I have played and all the movies I have seen have more then convinced me of the fact that it's impossible to avoid.

Pretty much...all you can do is assume...you will never be one of the developers (Unless you go to school for it) and therefore you don't really know what they are doing...even though many will assume that they do know lol...all we can do is wait and see.

actually i have coded a game once plus i can make 3d models
so maybe my career will be making games,
but I'm not leaning forward on it though...

Well you're 13 years old lol...you shouldn't really know what you want to do yet lol...heck I didn't even know for awhile. Designing games would certainly be fun though.

to tell you the ttruth when i was getting ready to go to the eighth grade earlier
this year, a bunch of people asked me what i was going to do for the future
i said i haven't decided yet and they got all like dude wht are you doing
wasting around time and stuff start thinking about your future!

lol it's ok...watch this.....DotD really is an enjoyable game despite the fact it includes the elements of several other games...which to no surprise really doesn't matter because I have yet to find a game that doesn't include a similer element to another....there you go lol.....but if someone said that to me at that age I would have prolly given them the finger or something lol...

Heck at 13 years old you should be living it up! (and just to give you a hint, not even half the students in college these days have any idea about what they want to do) so don't let it bother ya lol...

err... I suppose I should try to be on topic...

So any other similarities have you noted? I've only played the first PoP, and while like that game DotD has wall-running etc., it's pretty simplistic, you only use it a few times, wheras in PoP, it was...most of the game.

Well I'm not too big a fan of PoP...but to be honest I don't really noticed similarities between games very much...I'm a little too busy actually enjoying the game lol....but that's just me...

well i looked at the post where some dude said that hunter looked just like
the dude in assasins creed , which is made by ubisoft, who also made POP

If I remember right that post is now locked...but no I didn't really see them too resemblent of each other...but that's just me...I really don't care if several characters look like each other...we will never really know just what the developers were thinking.

They both have a hood and cloak, which is pretty much standard equipment for anyone in their position. Altair's an assassin, Hunter's some sort of ranger. Both need mobility so they can't wear any sort of armor as it would slow them down too much. They also both need to keep a low profile, hence the hood.

Though having Hunter as some sort of warrior in full chain mail would've been interesting to see...I guess it doesn't really go with the fact he's a cheetah.

anyways I had recently beat POP : TTT (i know its rated M) but i'm just saying the backgrounds of the far off buildings and structures,
they have the same graphical "thing" to it. Plus all the coincidences was
between the similarities of the two games, oh yeah and I just remembered
the dagger in time(a.k.a the thng that allows you to go in slow-mo or back in time
is kinda like the thing in TLOS: TEN Dragon time but i think that wasn't on
purpose though
but i do think that DOTD thing was but we'll probably never know...

Who knows.....I really wish that I could read developers minds and all...I have not really gotten into the PoP games too much...I should prolly go out and buy it...because all I have seen are screenshots and such...they are coming out with the fourth one soon...lol...I have some catching up to do.
