When will spyro be GOOD again

since the L.O.S. is over, will they return to the original formula, anyone know?

dotd,isn't over....

you saw that ignitus or the older dragon could't find him in the book."when a dragon dies,a new page will be added to this book,but i have done my best,but i can't seem to find any trace of Spyro..."
and then you see sparx and all of the others elemtent dragons get out of the cave,,then you see Spyro and Cynder flying with each other...Spyro ar never gonna end,,i think..i would not allow them to quit with spyro!!! big_smile

They said they're going to be more Spyro games. But I don't think they'll return to the originals after the reboot, but continue on where DotD left off.

As most of you are of no doubt aware due to the rants I've been posting everywhere, yeah, I'd love it if they returned to the original timeline, but the chances of it happening are very small.

Nah, I doubt that has anything to do with it. If lots of people wanted them to start remaking original Spyro games, it would be in their best interest to consider it, because game companies are about selling copies, not about "hmph, our games are perfect and no one can change them." If no one was asking for it, then they'd have a legitimate reason not to consider it.

Well, im kinda not sure about that, i would love to see some infantish old style spyro for relaxin and nostalgia sake, but LoS epicness has its own excitement which i wouldnt trade that easily.. I just wish they would finally make a perfect game in that avenue.. DotD was close but still not there yet.. I got a taste of this world and i want to explore it now, not just collect some gems and jump around melting from the cutiness of the character and environment ;]

I really don't see them returning the old forumla...the whole point of this series was to break away from the older games in general..because the way things were going before with games such as ETD and AHT and SL...the old series wasn't really working with new concepts that they had introduced in Shadow Legacy for example.

Hence a good reason why it would be considerable to reboot a different face to Spyro. I really think that if Sierra had gone on with the old games they would have butchered them even worse...so LoS was not a bad move in my mind...and no matter what happens the fans will be displeased with the choice...especially fans of the older series. My best guess is that this will be determined after this Spyro movie or movies come out...because I think that will really give them a good feeling for just who supports the LoS series and if it is really worth continuing with.

What I think they should have done is rebooted up to after YoTD. If they wanted to make TLoS, I seriously think they should have named their character something besides Spyro, because this new Spyro isn't anything like the old Spyro at all anyway. But of course, they wanted the extra sales from being associated with games that have done well in the past.

Well getting rid of Spyro from the franchise all together would be a pretty risky move...but yeah it would probobly work...at least then you wouldn't have these endless debates over an imposter Spyro or a new concept that could never be like the old Spyro. They made the new games in the attempt to reintroduce a new Spyro image...and of course it failed and succeeded in several ways....for old fans yes it's true that they would rather see the Spyro charcter die and never be used again then to see them create something different...it will always be like that.

Getting BOT, Not The Developers nor publishers have confirmed anything, But Hints say they will continue with TLOS. And seeing The Story is very unresolved, I think they will. They originally made ANB to be a Prequel to the originals but after the Sales were very good for it they decided to turn it into a trilogy and proclaimed it as a reboot. Now that the Sales are very good for the WHOLE TRILOGY, they might Decide to go even further, and I think they will.

Well if the sales have added up nicely for them....then it certainly gives them more reason to continue...because yeah the storyline is unresolved per say...that and if the games were successful enough they wanted to continue. I'm thinking that the movies will also give them a good idea of which direction they want to go.

hey red! i haven't been on in a while. anyway, my opinion is i see no chance of going back to the original spyro. i hope they continue with TLoS though since there are a lot of unanswered questions everyone thinks they can make up answers for. like what happened to spyro and cynder's parents?

Hey Blaze!..Good to see you're still around big_smile ..thought you skipped out on me lol....but yeah they could def use something that involves the backround of either Spyro or Cynder's parents...I would prolly lean more towards Cynder...I still don't think that they will wish to reveal Spyro's parents....just seems like that is something we will never know.

Yeah but they have no real reason to try and do that. They created this whole reboot to get away from the old games and establish a new feel to Spyro...so really having anything at all to do with the new games...even the gameplay...wouldn't fit into their overall stratagy....but then again you never know....

Well guys I just bought Spyro: A Hero's Tail off of Ebay and I see why they reverted from the old time line and game style: The modern gamer doesn't want to play a complete platformer or it will be called a childs game guys. If Mario was relesed now as it was in the 80's even if it had better graphics and was 3d it would not be popular at all. People are into fighting and war games now. If their sales are high for tLoS then that surprizes me w/ all the people who are buying war games and not playing anything else around. Well it's refreashing. If they went back all of their hard earned fans might neander away as they did after it left Isomic.
