Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

Well that would certainly depend on the gamer..I for one thought it was a pretty enjoyable experience...I give it about a 70/100...had its drawbacks...many loopholes and glitches banging around...but other then that I thought it was beautifully done....but again that's going to depend on the gamer and the Spyro image one would pertain as being acceptable.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

Well I admit that Cynder was by far the character I used the most...her melee attacks strike more then Spyro's...and she is faster...that and many of her abilities allow you to easily handle the more difficult enemies in the game...if you have not played it yet you will soon find out what I'm talking about.

Anyways the flying was cool in general...but of course their are drawbacks...those being the usual invisible walls and such that prevent you from getting to specific areas...despite the term "free flight" being used. You can't always just jump up and take off to get to one spot you see...some of them you still have to work your way to...but it does come in great hand when you have to fight some of the larger enemies....so overall I thought it was pretty cool...but it will be open to any opinion.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

Well her dark moves were pretty sweet....poison was prolly the one I had no use for at all lol...but all the others were pretty dang sweet...the most invaluable one to you will be her Shadow powers...you will find out why...and as for the hits lol...the largest combo I have had is about 300 or so...so believe me you can really stack up some hurt with the amount of stuff you can pull off.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

I thought it was a great game. Definitely a step up from the other TLoS games.
I found myself using Spyro more, but in times of desperation, I turned to Cynder. She's definitely a big help. I really liked her fear breath.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

I'd Give it about a 6.7 as a TLOS game. It's defiently better than ANB and TEN but still has Many Drawbacks. But it's OK.
As A Spyro game though in General, a 2/10

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

The graphics in general were much improved from the first two games...EL did do a pretty nice job in creating very detailed worlds and pretty well designed characters. The levels that really caught my interest in terms of artistic detail had to be Twilight Falls....The Burned Lands...and Floating Islands.....but all the levels were pretty nicely done. The attack graphics were very impressive...but the game did have a tendency to play catch up...so it isn't without its drawbacks....but def the best of the LoS series by far.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

I'd say an 8.5/10. I love the beautiful levels. My favorite levels were "Twilight Falls" and "Floating Islands" and the storyline was beautiful, and during cut scenes, I felt as if I had been watching a movie. And even thought they re-used a bit of the music, it was still wonderful. However, I did think some of the camera angles were a bit annoying at some times, and I wished there hadn't been areas with wind to blow you down. But I suppose it was so you could use more abilities other than flying, and so more puzzles could be put in. Another thing I didn't like sometimes was the lack of direction in some areas, like the gates you had to use shadow to get under. Or certain switches that you only use maybe twice in the game, like the electricity one. I had forgotten how to use one by the time I got to "The Ruins of War Fang".  But, other then those, I really really loved this game!

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

By far the best LoS of the 3. The storymakers somehow sensed that they needed to satisfy the fans of the LoS series (hint: shippers smile ) and gamers by far needed a twist from TEN and ANB. The hit system was implemented, albeit it is very broken (999 hits? :\). Aerial combat is too sensitive now, and flying and navigation are still broken (probably because this is still the first time, so I'll let it slip). Storyline is of epic, trying to match the fantasy storylines of some books and games out there.

Gamers in general would want only one thing from this: big hits and fast completion. I, myself, as the Game Conqueror, would seek to finish each chapter without getting damaged -- now that replayability is available, it's a nicer style of chronology.

There are a bit problems with the storyline -- those who have not played the previous 2 LoS would be confused and won't be able to keep up so easily. This may seem a bit on the 'duh' side, but I'm comparing this to a game (Phoenix Wright) where you could still start from the last game and keep up with the storyline -- other games with series also didn't need much thinking from the previous games, but that's the only drawback the LoS: DotD has by far in terms of storyline.

Overall, this game is still epic and I recommend action gamers and furry-fans to try it. Beware though, that the difficulty compared to the previous 2 games has jumped by a significant figure, and with the navigation and flying broken, it's going to be insanely irritating.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

Well I didnt' find the game nearly as difficult as TEN was...to be honest I thought that it was a lot easier...your health was far more managable...and the bosses were not nearly as difficult....bus I suppose that it might be a little bit different for everyone.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

The enemies aren't of signifcance -- the bosses are one to rate. I usually rate the difficulty of a game depending on it's duration of getting 100% and doing perfect runs and the enemies of notation and, if it's an action game, stylish gameplay vids. In this case, Malefor owns too much (although I didn't get hit on Round 2 and 3, just round 1 because it's aerial -- flying is broken, remember?), and it might just hinder things up. TEN's Gaul 2 was too cheap that I don't even call it a boss :\. Then, ANB's Cynder is of a medium difficulty -- this is proven through anyone who has seen my gameplay vid of me defeating Cynder with no damage and not using any gems. But right now I'm trying to work up stuff to get a no-damage on Malefor, and it's not going good (WHY DOES FLYING HAVE TO BE SO BROKEN? How many times have I stated this?), which for me already boosts the difficulty.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

Well it's going to be a bit different for every gamer...that's why I don't post videos...unless you play the game so much that you have it down to a science...things like that really wont affect a gamer. In TEN...I found it more of a nuisance that every time that you did get hit by a boss..or even normal enemies...it would drastically drain your health...while in DotD it is far more managable.(yet still a nuiscance)

The flying in general didn't bother me too much...I have gotten through that first part of Malefor's fight without taking a hit...but only once or twice...but again it will be different for each gamer....in terms of the game's length...it wasn't that difficult to proceed through the game..but having to find more items and gems was a challenge.

As for the enemies..the only ones that were a problem occassionally were the elite enemies...other then that the bosses are easy. All you have really are the Lava Golem and Malefor...the Destroyer doesn't count.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

I would have to say about 4.5-5...somewhere there...if that hard....once you know all his moves the guy is a piece of cake...the only time you can get in trouble is if you stand in the way of one of his obvious power attacks...which can knock just about 3/4 of your health away in one shot...but they are so easy to avoid it isn't funny...that and if you have two fully powered up dragons...it makes it all the easier...you fight him in three stages...you should be able to beat him with only one dragon once you know his moves.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

i would have to say .... 5-6

i mean he is a pretty fun boss to tell you the truth. i fight him for the heck of it.

the first time was impossible until i upgraded cynder and spyro to the maximum.

I can't really say it was easy. or hard. ha i actually use cynder a lot more than spyro.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

I use Spyro most of the time...his ice attacks when fully upgraded really knock Malefor's health out....but yeah as a boss he is pretty fun to just beat the crap out of lol....just make sure you avoid his elemental attacks.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

:'( times infinity. Not only was this game awesome, #1, and puts all other spyro games to shame, it was also the most romantic, heart-melting, emotional, and loving game of all time. It was the most awesome game of all time because of the co-op play, fly at any time, enhanced more realistic designs, scenery, and environments, highly developed and customizable melee combos, more stunning elemental attacks, and a highly developed story with frequent conversation. It was also the most romantic, heart-melting, emotional, and loving game because at the end when spyro and cynder were free of the chain, cynder chose to die along-side with spyro and sacrifice their lives to save their world, their friends, and all the creatures from destruction. Also, Ignitis was alive and given the chronicler's role and so were spyro and cynder flying around what looked like the valley of avalar. What really melted my heart was when cynder said, "I love you."  :'( times infinity.

He may be small, but his heart is larger than life.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

Well I'm glad that you really enjoyed the game...I also experienced many of those said things...and it is certainly one of the better games that has ever come out of the Spyro series...certainly worth the money that I put into it. Just hearing those three words at the end of it all really made things worth it.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

Well depending on if you have played the first two games or not...the only really new characters are Hunter and his tribe...but Hunter was also mentioned in the previos game...so we knew he would be coming....so other then that the only really new characters are the new enemies that you will encounter in the gameplay...that and you learn much more about Cynder's personality in general...so that is something new all in itself.

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

AWESOME!
the beginning 'till the end!

they also did an amazing job on the graphics for the wii version!!!
I had a feeling that it was almost playing it on a 360/ps3.
they also made a nice intro with the "Sierra Entertainment presents"
and everything. and later when they made a close-up of the crystal where Cynder,Spyro and Sparx were inside, the logo of " the legend of spyro: dawn of  the dragon" appeared....I just looked almost like a movie=D
I really had to laugh when they destroyed the Golem and Spyro asks Sparx if he's alright, Sparx was okay and then he said that his voice was only changingXD lol he's right!=P

I would give it a 9/10
btw, the flying wasn't that horrible on the wii version like I've heard of some people...It's just that you have to get used to it.

oh and Malefore wasn't hard at all...I beat him in one time without dying.. really..I think even the elite boss in the Burned Land was harder:/

Re: TLoS: Dawn of Dragon game review

Yeah Malefor was a very big disappointment in my mind....he wasn't nearly as hard as he should have been. One of the few things that could have been drastically improved in this version....will be interesting to see who they choose as the next villain.
