Re: Spyro: Triad Division [WT] (game concept & design suggestion)

Didn't see this before, Looks like you're doing alot of work...

Spyro
What if Cynder is still in risk of being controlled remotely by Malefor, who is back in Cortextivity, and Spyro is forced to send her there? He wouldn't like that one bit after all he had done for her... It can explain his attitude in the original games. He might try to bury away the loss by masking his true emotions.  Nobody can do it forever. Sooner or later, he will break or attempt a journey into Cortextivity himself.

Are you saying that TLOS was a direct prequel and that TLOS and Original Spyro were the same Spyro?

What if a human came to the Dragon Realms? What would happen?

I'm pretty sure that Humans are known in the Dragon Realms, We had a list of humans seen in games on one topic, such as the farmers in Crop Circle Country. Besides, judging by all the weird creatures in the Spyro games, Colas could easily "blend in". However something comming from outer space might catch the Dragon's eye, it seems that Dragons have not tried Space travel yet. Teleportation, yes, but not gettingon a rocket and flying through space literally.

Good Ideas though, I'll let you know if theres anything else I find a bit odd.

Well, I don't expect you to 'like' the enemy. I'm trying to slightly draw away from the evil dragon gig that's been happening and stick in something completely fresh.

I'm aware of that...but only Spyro and Sparks end up bumping into them. (Agent 9 as well.) The reaction that the others have are alot more cruel...possibly something they hate about Colas but...what? (I'm not giving away all the details...yet) As of the space travel thing, I'm intentionally combining The Dragon World (Hovana Sul) and Earth to make it feel more connected to the human character. The things that he'll go through can have a emotional connection to the player and that's one of the main things why I decided to do this idea.

Possibly...I don't see the point of pairing another dragon and dragonfly and coincidentally call them Spyro and Sparks as well. I also thought of forcing Spyro to separate from Cynder after saving her...*counts on his fingers*...three times would be a great idea. Cruel, yes, but it also helps find one of the pieces of the bridge between the two series. Oh, and having Colas and Spyro go at it was something I couldn't put down.

Even if you made a game, you wouldnt get it on the market. Sorry for destroying your dreams.

It's not a one on one view that will determined that but one on millions. What are the odds in that? Besides, this is not even finished yet. If you could visualize what I have in store...

Re: Spyro: Triad Division [WT] (game concept & design suggestion)

You wouldnt be able get it to the market. Period.

Btw are you considering yourself as "Colas"? Youre forcing someone from earth to spyro's world.

Re: Spyro: Triad Division [WT] (game concept & design suggestion)

True... in a way.  hmm That's how it is when someone writes a story because the author has control over the events. I wish to find a better plot to get him from point A to point B but... hm... I'll have to work on that.  There is always room for improvement for that "Colas" character... and no I don't consider myself as him literally.

Now... what else do you want to throw at me? I'm really starting to get annoyed of your arrogance.

Re: Spyro: Triad Division [WT] (game concept & design suggestion)

I agree. They can't just replace the supercharge tracks with a power up station...although it is useful in smaller areas. I assume the remote pads were deployed by The Professor and Moneybags (I bet moneybags paid someone else to do his). Anyway, I might want to reconsider those elemental "charge ports" that replenishes the energy for Fire, Ice, Electricity, and Plasma...maybe I should replace Plasma with acid as well.

Re: Spyro: Triad Division [WT] (game concept & design suggestion)

Yeah i know, making those supercharge things not a road but a pad is just not right, it gets rid of the feel for it. I think however keep plasma as it is but mabye acid as a different one, but its you thing just saying ideas.

Re: Spyro: Triad Division [WT] (game concept & design suggestion)

As I said, it more sufficient in smaller areas such as the ones in AHT plus the fact that they can be easier to set up than long tracks.

As for reassigning the element plasma to acid I said that because...I didn't see it as capable of being harnessed before I thought it through again so I take that back. I have the maximum limit of four elements, any more and I won't be able to assign them to the D-Pad. I'm trying to make the control schemes as simple as possible. Since there are multiple control schemes for things such as ground movement, flight movement, ground combat, air combat, weapon controls, and acrobatic actions, it will be slightly difficult to fit it all. I decided of removing the manual camera control (via the right stick) and using that for combat in conjunction with the other buttons and triggers. It shouldn't hurt the game too bad as long as the camera behavior does what it's suppose to.

Oh yeah, I just posted a event timeline made with Office Excel. The link is on the first post under Extra Stuff if you want to take a look at it. Right now, as of when this was posted, I have Spyro's proportionally done. There are minor references to Ratchet's timeline in case you don't catch it.

I seem to be getting delayed by school work everywhere I turn. It's mostly English class, which is good for storytelling and whatnot, and I have to answer these questions with long responses. Well, sacrifice one's free time for some valuable knowledge...  wink

I just think everything would be AWESOME! you're thinking beyond what others think and thats the best part... no matter what others say you SHOULD try and get this into a game.  everything layed out so far is amazing and if other were to hear about this they'd probaly like it too!

Re: Spyro: Triad Division [WT] (game concept & design suggestion)

I apperciate the support bud. The more the merrier. I just need to get my point across more clearly since words sometimes don't cut it. That's why I'm thinking of doing a small demoreel for the S-quarterstaff's advantages in combat situations. It'll make sense in time.
