Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Has anyone else noticed this dragon? It's not one of the guardians, and it's definitely not Spyro or Cynder.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Like I keep on telling people, Spyro, Cynder and the Guardians are NOT THE ONLY DRAGONS ALIVE!
I know Some people just say that because they are SpyroXCynder shippers who go "OMG, Spyro and Cynder Have to breed coz there's no more Dragonz!!!!!!1111"

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

If you look in the allies gallery in DotD you will see this dragon,           (it's got a green body and red head)
Also when you have to escort the mole back to the cannon in Warfang, at a certain part, this dragon will fly towards you and break part of the wall.
It's just an extra character used to show that the dragons have soldiers ready to fight.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

If you look at it, you'll also notice that despite the similarities, it's not... very dragon-like actually (most notably, head design).

It's not because not all wyverns are worm-like like those fighting on the side of the bad guys that there are any more dragon survivors. One should keep in mind that the apes DID commit a very through genocide prior to the games, exterminating the dragons basically to the very last ; they were down to their very last stronghold (the Dragon Temple) and they lost even there, the apes killing pratically every dragon save for the Guardians, Spyro, and Cynder.

Those that survived that disaster faced years of rampage from King Gaul and, later on, Cynder. Although it is possible that some dragons might have survived besides the Guardians, Spyro, and Cynder, it is also extremely likely that they are the last. Their specie did bite the dust very hard in LoS.

As for retconning that point, it would be extremely dumb in my opinion since it would tone down Spyro's and Cynder's role in the story greatly. A big point that make the LoS games' atmosphere so different (and in my opinion, good) is that feeling of loneliness as Spyro (and later on, Cynder too) take on overwhelming odds with pratically no help but Sparx and a few last dragon survivors.

To learn that there was an army of dragons who sat there and did nothing while they were risking their necks is facepalm-worthy... so no. Just no.

So I say that one shouldn't think too much of it.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

They're not saying they suddenly have a hundred dragons to help. This is just saying maybe there's two or three besides the guardians/Spyro/Cynder.

I know, But I still think it's hard to believe that a race as big and powerful as the dragons All got destroyed except for a few. I still recon most are hiding underground, but there was a significant loss.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Well..since it is clearly a dragon we know the developers wanted more fill in characters for the story...and seeing as how their is a dragon city...it's sensible to assume that some dragons might have escaped Cynder's wrath from ANB...and went into hiding.

Then when Malefor was finally released...they revealed themselves in the one last attempt to rescue the world they cared about...and the dragon city was the rallying point for them.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Still seems odd that there aren't many DRAGONS in DRAGON City... it's full of silly moles, but at least they can help (glares at manweersmalls)

Well, if they got an extra dragon, you'd think they could tell Spyro and Cynder that they found more...

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

It's just something the developers through in to make the game feel more complete. They have the urge to add things in that have no sense in the LoS cannon....and you can sit here and make up reasons as to why they did it until your face turned purple....but we don't really know why.

I just think they through them in their to make it feel a bit more epic and complete all around....not really caring about the exact reason as to why they were put into the game.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

If you pay attention, you will see several other dragons in Warfang that look a lot like this guy. When Spyro and Cynder opened the gates into the ruins of Warfang, several small dragons came through with the Guardians. These guys are just non-elemental dragons who are helping out.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

That "Unknown Dragon" is a Dragon from Warfang, there are many more you see in the game:
Dragon City (it comes up & smashes a grublen on the wall).
Attack of the Golem (many of them fly past you at the hight tower).
Ruins of Warfang (many of them come out with Spyro & Cynder, the Guardians, the moles & the cheaters (as Razz wrote))
And the Dam (at the start (cut-seen) When Ignitus said: 'Listen to me.
We MUST prevent that monster (the Destroyer) from escaping the canyon, no matter the cost.
You see him standing behind the moles, next to the cheaters).
You mustn't have played DotD Abiceo.
I thought it was a water dragon at first with a red painted face because
it has red painted lines on its wings.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Aicebo has played DotD...and the character is nothing of any importance. It's just a fill in character to make the game feel more like something of rather epic proportions...and a few more dragons were needed to make it feel like something big was going on.

Nothing important...

Yeah but at least Flame and Ember had some kind of speaking role lol....even if they were dismal. These dragons were pretty much just fill in characters.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Like you keep saying, they might have some sort of elemental power, which we either dont know of yet or it is a pure melee attack dragon.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Given that there were many of these dragons (at least three if not more) and they were all smaller than the Guardians, I would imagine that they have no specific elemental powers. They're just ordinary citizens of Warfang.
