What I feel that could have been added...
After playing the new Spyro game (which I might add is the only Spyro game I've played) I felt that something more could've been done to improve the gameplay. And I don't mean the usual winging about camera's and glitches, but the fact that if the developers made more of an RPG feel to it. What I mean by this is that more types of armour could've been added or better yet a money system. For example I was hoping that after saving Dragon City you could perhaps "shop" for various items in Dragon City with whatever currency you collected throughout your journey.
And with this new flying system it would be quite easy to travel to different places and get whatever the hell you wanted.
Other opinions of this idea would be appreciated

Yeah that would've been cool. Shopping in Dragon City. ^^
Almost like Champions of Norrath...you find different items on your journeys and you can by rare and powerful weapons at different shops.
Yeah that too. Though it is still fun the way it is.
But flying anywhere you want would have been cool too. Who knows maybe they'll do that in the next game? *crosses fingers*

Well, they have to bring the flying back. They can't just add something that we've been waiting for, for 10 years, and then take it away. Now the flying can only get better.

Re: What I feel that could have been added...
Flying has to go. It's just... broken.
No platformer should ever give the player infinite flight with no penalty. DotD does and it shows ; you can just fly over all the enemies and platforming become irrelevent at best. You can't even choose not to trigger it ; the game baby you and activate it automatically if you are ever in danger of falling off.
It's dull and cheap. What's the point of having platforms and a whole terrain to navigate if it doesn't matter and that it's all just decoration in the end?
A limit should be set. For example, only being able to take off from certain spots and only being able to stay in the air for a certain amount of time (having a flight meter or using some kind of item). Else, it kind of cheapen the entire game.
Apart from that...
So many things could have been added but I'll focus on the essential rather than on extra features.
Challenge, for starters. After TEN, this was a total letdown. TEN was challenging but not too much despite what the whiners say. DOTD reverted to a difficulty level that was so easy it was laughable at times. I wouldn't have minded if it had been just a little easier but they made it so much easier it was almost as easy as ANB. Malefor was such a pushover that is bordered on an anticlimax, for example.
An important point is length and content. For having 8 stages, more than the others, it still felt very short. A big problem was that there was not much to do. In ANB and TEN, the stages tended to be long-winded with a large number of sections. In DOTD? The final stage contain only two sections, the first one being a very easy "find the torches" puzzle and the last being a SINGLE battle. A real joke.
Difficulty, level design, flying. My three main complaints.
Before thinking about adding a thousands new features, I think they should fix what is broken first. DOTD was a step forward in many ways... but also a step backward in many others. I hope they learn from their mistakes and improve upon the formula.

Re: What I feel that could have been added...
There were some parts where flying was limited like when you wither had to take those orbs or when some air current was preventing you from simply flying where ever you wanted. And I'm amazed you found all the puzzles easy. For example during the Dragon City battle with the giant doors I sat there for an hour killing randoms and I couldn't figure out how to stop it and it wasn't until I went to forums that I found out how to do it. But...
I will agree on you for saying that the flying made it too easy to beat enemies, but I mean come on... it was pretty sweet flying around the place just to check out all the different areas (even if it was a bit bugged )

Re: What I feel that could have been added...
Oddly enough, I barely flew. Free flight is the major thing I've wanted for a long time and it's amazing no doubt. But turns out I hardly used it.
You can't fly over enemies that easily except maybe The Valley of Avalar and some places in The Ruins. They always have those blocked sections where you have to defeat the enemies to continue. Like in the Burned Lands, it was kinda random to have those walls pop up from the ground and stop you from going any further unless you defeat the enemies below.

Re: What I feel that could have been added...
Well I hope in the next Spyro game they'll make the flying a lot better. Maybe make it were you can go higher into the sky? More places but bigger and longer to explore in...*shrug*
Of course keep two-player in...that would be stupid if they put it back to one-player. <_<
"Well, they have to bring the flying back. They can't just add something that we've been waiting for, for 10 years, and then take it away. Now the flying can only get better." Yup I agree.
I mean even though we had flying it felt like...you were straped down to something. I really like the flying around but I'd also really like to go higher and not get pulled down by some stupid wind. <_<
Who knows maybe now that TLoS games are over maybe they can now have a chance to actually work harder on the next game? I'm not saying the others were bad so please don't hurt me. ^^;
But I'm just saying you know maybe put a little more work into the next one?
And again I'm not saying they didn't put any work into the three games...again don't hurt me. ^^
Oh...you know what I'm saying right?

Re: What I feel that could have been added...
I found all the games rlly easy...
all i pretty much want them to have is a free roam like spiderman 2 and 3
where u can go around selecting different missions people offer. they should most definatly have more freedom in flying.
a longer game would be fantastic. and i would also like to play as a few other characters.
Sometimes when all seems lost, a light shines through the darkness, and we are reminded carnage, can turn the tides of war!

Lol they had to do that or else all the puzzles would be even easier and you could fly anywhere until you fell through the game limits and probly end up in 'blue hell.'

Wind is the only thing to made the flying acceptable so far as challenge goes.
And just so everyone knows there were no gameplay changes in the game that I have not seen asked for the Sierra's forum or called for in numerous other places (including Hunter, flight, for apes the be replaced as the main minion enemy, two play, to not have to replay all the levels to get to somewhere, for that Dark Master to fly when you fight him, and whiners from far to many other places asked for an easier game, should have been a difficulty selecter).
