Re: Spyro getting older

We have already been over this, connor. Do NOT bring it up again. We have already concluded that it would NOT be a good idea, and we do not have to hear it again.

If he thinks it's a good idea, let him talk about it if he wants to.

BlueFlame, he has a whole thread already devoted to his "idea".

Lets not go there ontels. Other people might start elaborating on that.

Re: Spyro getting older

Spyro getting older would be pretty nice, but EVERYTHING would change about him. The transition from switching companies was weird enough. But as much as I'd like to see an older, stronger Spyro, I just can't see his personality and maturity changing. Or maybe it's just that I don't want to see that.. I don't know. I can't seem to come to a decision on this poll.  :-X
May he be Spyro foreverrr.  smile

Re: Spyro getting older

Well, is there any mentioning in the Spyro series of how old dragons are? Maybe a dragon lives to be several hundred years old. If that's the case, then Spyro's childhood / teenage years / small size would last many years more than we'd believe.

Re: Spyro getting older

I doubt it if a dragon years were different then human years. Perhaps years to a dragon is like weeks to a human? No major changes are noticeable.

And, yes, as you mentioned, Spyro does look oldest in A Hero's Tail. That is, because, it chronologically is the last Spyro.

Actually, A Hero's Tail ISN'T the last Spyro... It was more of a stopping point for that version of the Spyro Universe. The Legend games are considered to be a different universe so that Spyro and the original one have nothing in common except their names and body colors. Now the Legend Spyro may have more abilities then the original but that is simply due to the way he was created to be in the Legend games. Technically, the final game... so far... is Shadow Legacy for the Nintendo DS. That game came out after A Hero's Tale and screw things up a tad bit. The whole point is the original series was halted because Universal and Sierra screwed up so badly that even they couldn't figure out a way to fix the problem... yeah right... I simply think they didn't care to try and thus here we are with a rebooted version of Spyro. This reboot only has one more game to go in the trilogy before a choice is made to either continue the rebooted series of games with more games or to return to the original series and attempt to correct some of the mistakes that were made.

Hint: The second option has about 1 in 99 percent chance of happening since from what I have heard the main reason the original universe was shelved has something to do with Insomiac... and a few other issues within their company.)

So option number one is more likely but they have to get the Dark Master storyline done first. Game no. 3 which is scheduled to come out in late 2009 should finish this storyline off and open the door or close the door for the next chapter??? Whatever it turns out to be... wink

Yeah, I would wanna see evil older Spyro...
He actually does get that way in my fangame. He's overshadowed by a mysterious creature called the Phantom Serpent.

Re: Spyro getting older

True, spyro is good and is his world's protector against darkness and evil. But, with all those smart and smirky faces that spyro makes just makes people want to question whether he is good or bad. I would actually love to see and maybe play as evil spyro in some future game(s). It would be like the Champions: Return To Arms game; in the beginning you were given the choice of whether to join and play on the side of good or evil. That would be so awesome to the extreme.

Re: Spyro getting older

I'm afraid that if they make Spyro older, then his childish sarcastic attitude would be gone and all that... Plus I definitely don't wanna hear a deeper voice on him and I'd hate to see him act more responsible than he already is. xD He's somwhat of a rebel, if you ask me. If he gets older, then that rebellious attitude will fade...

But don't they have a picture of grown-up Spyro in the back of the player's manual for the first Spyro? I remember seeing it and getting all excited that maybe they'll make him grow up... But that was when I was like, what, 6? x3

Re: Spyro getting older

I wouldn't want to see Spyro like an old Dragon, that would be weird....but a little growth in some part of the series would be nice.
(ie lower voice more responsibilities)

I agree.  I'd rather see him as a young adult dragon.

Re: Spyro getting older

Re: Spyro getting older

I personally don't think that I'd like to see him get older and bigger. Yes, it's more realistic--he's been around for 8 realtime years, now--but if he were bigger, it would be harder to control him and his body would take up half of the screen. I wouldn't mind him losing the baby fat, however. XD

Re: Spyro getting older

In Spyro 3, have you used the "big head spyro" cheat? If you want to see him take up a great deal of the screen, try it out!
