Re: is The legend of Spyro: Dawn of the dragon worth getting (wii)
how does the nunchuk work in this game? i'm not really a huge fan of the wiiwaggling thing, but i'm kind of curious about how it works with spyro.
And by the way, for any of you turning into a penguin, stop it.

DotD is worth geteting if you like Spyro. It's also the first one you can fly in, making the game feel very open. I don't know anything about the wii, i have it on the 360 but it is a very good game.

thanks, i was thinking of getting it because my brother was big into the wii, and then really didn't get a lot of games for it.

Re: is The legend of Spyro: Dawn of the dragon worth getting (wii)
Mehn, Dawn of the Dragon is all right. But it was a huge disappointment. It's hard to fly while playing two-player, the lighting is awful, the voice acting is just horrible, the gameplay can get repetitive... really, the most enjoyment I got out of it was when my friend put in the cheat code for unlimited breath and we started messing around with the attacks. Eventually I did get to a point where I was just sick of it. While it is better than the previous Legend of Spyros, I suggest you rent it first.

Re: is The legend of Spyro: Dawn of the dragon worth getting (wii)
yea
if u beat the dawn of the dragon one time u cant play story mode anymore
man that bites
Yeppers, but, I don't know about the Wii version, you can play the chapters again... At least on the PS2, anyway.
Oh, yeah, you want to know if it's worth getting. XD
I'd say definitely. Here's my review on the PS2 version, which is meant to be basically the same as the Wii, only different controls, obviously.
*****
Although the previous two games in the "The Legend of Spyro" series have been somewhat disappointing and repetitive, you might find that Dawn of the Dragon is a happy change, for the better. Spyro, Cynder and Sparx have matured whilst being in the crystal, which is one of many plot holes in the game, since Krome studios isn't making Spyro now.
Sparx actually has an enthusiastic person voicing him, without a voice that makes you want to die *cough*Billy West*cough cough*(XD It's true!).
You can play two-player, too. Controller 1 is Spyro and Controller 2 is Cynder.
Solve some challenges and puzzles, and collect... collectables.
You will particularly like this game if you want less fighting, improved graphics and more puzzles.
It may also help your view of the game if you like, or can stand, the pairing Cynder and Spyro.
I hope this helped. This is just my view on the game, you may not agree with it, but you can always take it into consideration. =P
Avvie is from the movie The Cat Returns.
Aicebo made the awesome banner above! =3

Re: is The legend of Spyro: Dawn of the dragon worth getting (wii)
Yeah, but making Spyro and Cynder teenagers was a bad move by Sierra, thinking it would draw in a audience that's growing up with Spyro. And they thought it would be a good idea to update Spyro and Cynder's design for the new consoles, but the only thing that got updated more was the scenery.

Does "worth getting" mean you have to pay for it?
Anyway, a strict no.
The camera was just horrible and this game isnt meant to be played with wii.

Re: is The legend of Spyro: Dawn of the dragon worth getting (wii)
Also, the cinematics could have been better, they were terrible in some parts. The camera could get annoying sometimes, and that Pi$$ed me off. But, overall, the game was good, (gameplay-wise), and had a good plot-line, but some characters needed more lines *Cough*Guardians*Cough*.

Re: is The legend of Spyro: Dawn of the dragon worth getting (wii)
I have the PS3 Version, and the graphics are much better. I know they rushed the game and am dissapointed, if they had taken their time with the game, Cyril would have more words to say other than "look out!' (for that is all he says, sadly true.)

Re: is The legend of Spyro: Dawn of the dragon worth getting (wii)
I have the 360 version, and I like the controls better than the Wii version of DotD.
They had to make DotD from scratch with EL, because Sierra pulled the project from Krome as they were already working on the game, which is mainly cause for Spyro and Cynder suddenly becoming teenagers and new character designs as an attempt to draw in an audience that is growing up with Spyro. The only thing they updated more was the scenery.

Re: is The legend of Spyro: Dawn of the dragon worth getting (wii)
In the first place I bought Dotd for Wii, but later I also bought it for 360.
But really...I don't see THAT much differences between the graphics..
the 360 has only some things more..For example, in the Valley of Avalar, there are some more flowers, bugs, trees, etc. ...But that's all.
They did a great job on the Wii!
So in my opinion it's worth buying;)
