Re: Plotholes in DotD

That idea is certainly understandable to some...I personally don't care either way...but many other fans would despise the idea.

Re: Plotholes in DotD

Because most likely we have been....seeing as how it's been discussed for the past couple of months now. I don't think they would go that far anyways.

Ugh, this is why they need to make some sort of announcement, we're running out of things to discuss.

It was the sudden change of developers that caused these plotholes. Remember, at the end of TEN, Hunter found Spyro and Cynder, who were still in their Krome forms, frozen in time. But in DotD, it was the Grublins that found Spyro and Cynder first while Hunter secretly followed them. And the time crystal was already carved out instead of being stuck around debris of the Mountain of Malefor.

They were implying tahat Hunter was on the trail not that he had "found" them yet. Also they werent trying to plan ahead, They just put their current design on there they didn't even know EL would try and make them look older yet.

In my opinion, yes they are older in DOTD and Sierra have said SEVERAL timers taht they are older. We have evidence that EL was PLANNING IT so it was DEFIENTLY NOT JUST A CHANGE IN ART DESIGN. But no, These days I do not think its a plothole. I think Spyro was not very exprerienced with Magic yet and tried something new taht didn't go very successfully. He made it so that he would be frozen in ice (thats right, not time, JUST ICE) but his body would remain aging but he INTENDED to freeze in time

Re: Plotholes in DotD

this is what happened

the time crystal spyro and cynder and sparx were trapped in didnt give them food or water or even toilet breaks so all that stress and stuff changed their apperenace.

the guardians got bored waiting for them 3 to come back so they went to the gym. hense they massive paws they have and extremely large muscules

cynder thought that her jewlery looked awesome, so spyro used ice breath to make her new ones big_smile then they cleaned them up and made them shiny

Re: Plotholes in DotD

I blame Sierra for ruining the final chapter of the LoS trilogy, it was their idea for switching game developers and changing character designs before merging with Activision.

Re: Plotholes in DotD

wanna know a BIG plot hole?

in ANB Malefor (aka the dark master) was trapped in CONVEXITY, in a PRISON wanted to be freed and cynder could do it.
then
in TEN Malefor created the Mountain of Malefor and then was trapped inside THAT and the CELESTIAL MOONS had to free him
then
in DOTD Malefor sed that Spyro freed him from the well of souls... and cynder tricked him to doing that... im completeley lost now... what was my point?

Re: Plotholes in DotD

Malefor was released from Convexity at the end of ANB, and when the inter dimension collapsed upon itself he wasn't freed into the physical world but instead as an evil spirit trapped within the well of souls. From there, yes he was freed by Spyro on accident and proceeded to do what he wanted in DotD.

Re: Plotholes in DotD

But that leaves a very interesting question that has yet to be asked.... HOW WAS MALEFOR IMPRISONED IN CONVEXITY? The backstory on Malefor is pretty much non-existent. And don't anyone dare tell me that that crappy little story that the Chronicler told Spyro in TEN was good enough for a backstory for Malefor because it wasn't. The whole problem with the LOS trilogy as a whole is that Malefor was built up to be this major threat of a villain but in the end he ended up a dull, cookie-cutter villain with a boring 'I am going to destroy the world' plan. Then again I hated how the whole trilogy played out. There was more then enough story present to do more then one trilogy of games had they been really serious about really making Spyro better then his original 'counterpart'. The whole storyline of trilogy had plotholes in it. It wasn't just DotD.

There a few plotholes in DotD, made by the change of game developers. First, how did Spyro and Cynder grow up inside the Time Crystal, when they were still young at the end of TEN when Hunter of Avalar found them? Since they were frozen in time, they can't grow into teenagers. Which probably explains that they haven't aged or grew up a bit in height as the Guardians were still taller than them. They can still free-fly, even if they are young.

Second, how did Cynder get her iron jewelry back on?? They weren't on her in TEN and after she was frozen in time with Spyro at the end of the game. I know, they were suppose to help Cynder face her fears of being Malefor's pawn, but there's got to be a better reason.

I say it would've been better if EL kept the TEN design of Spyro and Cynder, instead of just making them teens. It would make much more sense if they made them teens in the next Spyro game.

A few lawl. the whole game was a plot hole.

Good luck using that :icon: and I'm much more lenient with the topics then other mods have been. I enforce the rules set by SR so if you have a problem with them send him a message.

good point. convexity was like his soul was trapped once he was free the celestial moons started to count down...somthing no one could stop.

Therefor the theory of convexaty freeing him works, becauseno one could stop the celistial eclips.

the whole crap about spyro was just BS IMO i prefer to keep DOTD out of my mind with its sloppy "lets f*** the last 2 games up with this one."

Actually, he wasn't trapped in the Well of Souls. But the Well of Souls formed a portal for him to cross from Convexity into the real world on the Night of Eternal Darkness. As for in DotD... he was just BSing Spyro and Cynder to try and turn them against each other. He's just that kind of dragon.
On topic, yeah, lots of plot holes. I understand how they could grow up (someone explained to me about cryogenics and how it would work) but I don't get where the jewelry came from. I guess the animators didn't care and just said, "Okay, it looks cool, just keep it."
... I don't know. I think they were just in a rush to finish the game and so didn't think things through.
