Re: A Dragon in NYC

Holy. Crud.
I haven't updated this since last year...*shudders*
Beat me!  I'm an insect!
But I didn't forget about this fic...not for one moment...*cough cough*
<_<
Ahem.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the morning after Amethyst's big psycho-episode (as she was referring to it in her mind) she woke up with blood caked in-between her claws, grove mites clinging underneath her wings, and a pain of hunger behind her stomach like she'd never felt before, not even when she was living in the crack of the wall of the subway.  Oh, that seemed so long ago.  She wondered where that piece of glass on a chain ever got to...the one that gave her her name, one of three possessions that she ever really had.  Perhaps it had fallen off in her false-suicide attempt, or shattered when she crossed over into the dragon world.  She really regretted losing it; it had been the one link to her true nature when she was in human form, and she would have liked to have had it now that she was actually there.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Headmistress Rowle was, by now, cursing the moment she decided to take dragon form and follow 45-49...Amethyst...from New York City.  There was no reason to leave her soul-harvesting camp herself, she could have just sent other minions, more of them.  Now she was stuck in dragon form (for a drache could not transform back to human once dragon) and she could not go back to the city, not after idiot Amethyst's little escapade with the wings, jumping off the building...

Rowle was now flying over a remote part of the islands off the coast of Alaska.  She was contemplating her daughter with that...that 'true' dragon.  She had met him when she had not yet gone into human form, still a dragon in the dragon kingdoms.  She was in her late teens, he was in his twenties, and they were young and foolish, to use a hackneyed phrase.  Before she knew it, she was pregnant, and was shunned by her own kind, the draches, and the dragons alike.  After months of this, she gave birth, and minutes later left for the human world in disgrace.  Her baby left in back of the Dragon Temple and a new life in front of her, her quest for power could begin.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Far away, in another universe, Spyro woke from another haunting dream in which the chant, "Serve the jewel" echoed around him as that beautiful dragoness curled like smoke around him.  But when he tried to speak to her, she was borne away on the wind, as like the smoke which she imitated.

Late in the night, he stumbled down to the dream-pool, losing his balance on the rim and sploshing into it like a clumsy buffoon.  He quietly cursed himself.

For, before he had disturbed the surface, he had seen the face of the one he so wanted to see.

Now there was nothing but ripples.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the opposite wing of the temple, Ember was awake and thinking of her new plan to distract her beloved Spyro from these troublesome dreams.  He was obsessed with seeing her...whoever she was...seeing her face in the dream-pool.  But he couldn't see it there if there was no dream-pool to see the face in...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

:-P Phew...this chapter was hard to write, heh, especially for being so short...this was kind of a check-up, making sure I didn't lose track of what was going on in the story...hopefully you caught the fact that I brought an important fact into play on the behalf of Headmistress Rowle... wink

mimi:  So sorry I haven't updated in so long!...feel free to beat me, as I'm an insect, as I stated above...Thanks for the kind words.

Everyone please review!

Re: A Dragon in NYC

Wow, you're the first fan fiction writer I've seen who's actually good. Amethyst is becoming an increasingly complex character, although something dramatic should happen soon to change something.

Do remember the rules though, I'd hate to see a story like this go unfinished.

It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living.

Re: A Dragon in NYC

o_O I have not posted this fan fiction anywhere before.  I do not belong to FF.net or any other fanfic site.  This fic is written spontaneously, directly from my imagination.  I post on this randomly as the mood strikes me, with whatever ideas appear into my head that follow with my extemely loosely-outlined story arcs.  I do not even have it saved on a Word document.

I suppose the last chapter is somewhat generic to some kinds of stories(maybe?) but if you could find the site that you think you read this on, it would be an immense help to me, so I could find and compare...

Claimer:  A Dragon in NYC is completely my own work and I do own it.  I did not get ideas from any other fan fiction (I don't really read that much Spyro fan fiction, as I don't have a lot of time).  I did not get ideas from any other post on this site or anywhere on or off the Internet.  The only place I have inspiration from is the Spyro games.

No offense, ~cornys~, I'm certainly not accusing you of saying I copied, but if anyone's seen this fan fiction anywhere else on the net, please alert me.  I have not given permission for anyone to repost this or take credit for my hard work.   >_<

Not to seem paranoid over little things or overly possessive of my work, but fanfiction thieves are one thing I will not stand...

Thank you, everyone, for your time.  I will be updating this story in about a week.

EDIT:  Wow, upon reading this, I seem harsh, don't I?  (It wasn't meant to be that harsh...)  I assure you again, I'm not accusing anyone of copying or accusing me of it.  But please do alert me if you see this fic anywhere else but here.
