The shot did indeed strike Krucifi as he howled in pain and anger, blood dripped out of his mouth. Snarling, he disappeared into the shadows, "*bleep*....it...." He cursed as he faded. As he did so, the barrier went down.

Petalance stood panting for a second, that had happened quite fast. Snapping back to attention she started running for the now barrier-less exit, hoping Zyrnoth would be able to get out with his injuries.

"Move it or lose it you three! Unless you want to have an extreme flying lesson!"

Arus didn't give Zyrnoth time to respond before picking him up and dashing towards the exit with him in tow. "Let's just get the hell out of here!"

"I feel violated...." Zyrnoth grumbled as they ran out of the city. No sooner did they when the entire place went up in flames.

Petalance ran until she could no longer feel the heat of the flames, once that happened she stopped and turned around. She started doubling back slightly, so the others would catch up sooner. Though she would much rather have collapsed right there, they needed to find this 'safe place' Arus had told them about.

(Wow, that's a coincidence that just as that lousy misplaced proxy ban wears off it's back to somewhere my character could actually respond.)

"And so they come near..." Reevab muttered as he saw the travellers exit the ruined, blazing city, right towards him.
He didn't know what had gone on, but he expected it had something to do with them, and so maybe, just maybe, they were tired from it.

Arus tossed Zyrnoth onto the ground. "Well it's better then being dead, at least in my book." grumbled the black dragon as he inspected any wounds he might have taken on. The city behind them had erupted in a sea of flame. It was but mere seconds before any trace of the ancient city remained.

"Well....that certainly was interesting. You friend has quite the tricks up his sleeve."

The dragon was tired yes, but in the back of his mind he could have sworn that he felt another presence nearby.

Reevan made sure his rock was ready. They were all tired, as he could now see, and maybe he'd get lucky and one would fall behind, but he might not get that opportunity... He'd just have to follow them until an opportunity presented itself. At the very least, he might be able to knock a horn or two off with his rock, and that'd serve as an excellent dagger without killing the dragon... Or, at least, that's how Reevan thought it could be worked out. Dragon anatomy, he'd never really known anything about it other than what was obvious on the surface. But he was desperate enough to risk one of them dying, after looking over the road, and if so, there'd be the food problem gone, repulsive though it may be. His concious could object later, he decided.

Petalance finally got back to where Arus, Zyrnoth and Lance were. She had surprised herself that she could actually run that fast. She had heard what Arus had said.

"And that's putting it mildly." She commented as she looked at the smoldering city.

"I won't ask exactly what then.... I have a pretty good idea...." Petalance said quietly, she walked over to Zyrnoth and stood next to him on his good side, offering to let him lean against her to take some weight off his more damaged side.

The black dragon broke away from his thoughts on the nearby presence to see the two dragons suddenly side by side. "Oh....well......yeah It shouldn't be too far, but.....I still have a feeling we're not exactly....alone...."

Arus could only nod as he turned his head down the road. It had been years since he even visited the safe house. Deep inside he was most likely hoping that it was still there.

"Alright we have to head for those mountain peaks up ahead. The safe house rests within one of the deepest caves in the mountain. No doubt once we are there we will be safe for quite some time. Follow me."

With that the black dragon moved forward down the makeshift road; the ruins of the smoldering city still lighting up the evening sky behind him.

Petalance scowled and wrapped her tail around Zyrnoth's, not in an amorous way though, it was so that he wouldn't stop walking. She then started walking a bit faster, likely causing Zyrnoth a bit of discomfort.

"Well, we'd best get a shuffle on then and find out." She said cheerily.
