Bamboo Terrace Glitch (Swim in the Air)

I noticed about, oh say five years ago, a certain glitch in bamboo Terrace. I dove at just the right angle near the huge water fall, and was able to swim in the air. Thank goodness I was able to find a video of it. Though, I'm sad I'm not the first to find it.

Has anyone else found this quite fun? Your able to swim to the very top of the area, and have a bird's eye veiw of the whole place. And the glitch is simple to get out of. All you have to do is touch water and your right back to normal.
All the enemies will sound like they're underwater too. Take a quick look:

Yes I've done that, too!

I actually kept swimming up and up, until you come out underneath an exact replica of the level, although there are no enemies and nothing is solid.
You can also get to Bentley without paying [if you haven't freed him already and then gone back]. smile

I never saw this one before. I've done a couple other swim in air glitches though. ( Not found by myself, but from Youtube tongue ) I should try it sometime.

It took me a few trys, but after a while, your remember the exact spot and it's a cinch.
And yes, there is a limit how high you can swim into the sky. You eventually meet an invisible wall where you can see a shadow of Spyro. And If you go farther down, where if you weren't using the glitch, you'd fall to your death, you can still die, but the glitch will still be activated. You'll just be swiming in mid air again.

Does anyone know why this happens? I heard it was because the Game company made an error or something. Not entirely sure on that one! ;D

It probably has something to do with the way they made the water blend with the land. They couldn't really make flat ground right next to the water, I noticed. In Crystal Islands there was a swimming glitch because the height of the ground was really close to the water. I have no clue about game programming, so that's about as much of an in-depth description I can give. XD

There were also some in Enter the Dragonfly and A Hero's Tail, so I guess it must be a hard thing to get right.

Since u are on the water and press [] u make a move down/forward and enter the water, wich makes u enter the "water moves type" mode (wich allows u to swim, go to any directions). So...

Imagine the programing comand line like this:
If spyro is in the water (since u executed the dash by pressing []), then: execute "water moves type" mode. ELSE (when u get off the water): Back to "normal moves type" mode.

But, at this stage, when u dash, u dont fall into the water, so u get the water moves type in the air...

I guess thats something like that o_O

hi, do you know that you can swim in the air in some other places (and games too)
Spyro 2: Summer forest , Breeze Harbour , cloud temples
Spyro 3: (Bamboo terrace wink ), crystal islands
Spyro enter the dragonfly: on some beach (sory I dont know Name)

I found another place in Spyro 3- Lost fleet, but you have to have the invincibility, if you haven't, you will die. neutral

I always use this glitch when I'm playing a new game so I can get to Bentley early. XD

But besides that there isn't much to do, unlike the swimming glitch at Evening Lake:

Go to Fireworks Factory and jump in the lava until you have no Sparx. When you're falling without Sparx, pause the game RIGHT before you hit the lava again. You should feel a slight rumble. Exit the level and swim out of the lake and into the air. You won't swim into the air unless you pressed pause the very moment before Spyro would have died. Once you are swimming, if you want Sparx (the fodder don't work) then go have Zoe zap you and then swim into the flames. When you come back you'll have Sparx and still be swimming.

If you swim under the level you see the inside of the whale . Don't go in there; you can't get out! You also see

It's completely transparent, so you can swim through there no problem. ^^

Also if you go back in the water it either kills the glitch or you end up in a gigantic death trap (you'll be walking underwater!). So I don't recommend it. XD
