Member Levels
I know that there are the levels of Admin. and Member but I was wondering if mabey we could make levels of members acording to how many posts they have or Gems they own. This way mabey people will post more often and keep the board a little more active in down times.... Probably not... but I'm trying... lol
If tomorrow may never come, and yesterday is just a memory, then what is today worth?

Re: Member Levels
Despite what I may have said in the past (about ranks causing people to spam to get their post counts up so they can move to the next rank, etc) I'm starting to think this is actually a good idea. It would give people more of an incentive come here, post, and stick around for a while, I think, if they had some kind of goal to work towards.
Now to come up with some names for the different ranks....

Re: Member Levels
lol.. here's what I was thiknking...
New Commer: 24 or less Posts (or 499 gems)
Sparx: 25-99 Posts (or 500- 4,999 gems)
Hunter: 100-199 Posts (or 5,000- 9,999 gems)
Young Dragon: 200- 499 Posts (or 10,000 Gems- 24,999 Gems)
Trained Dragon: 500- 999 Posts (or 25,000- 49,999 Gems)
Cynder: 1,000- 1,999 Posts (or 50,000 Gems to 99,999 Gems)
Spyro: 2,000 + Posts (or 100,000 Gems)
I don't know which way to do that since the gems could be spent from time to time.... though it never happened
Also as another idea (if this is adopted) go with 2 ranking Systems.... one with names based in LOS and The Orig. (same values with different names) you could even have a villan on for both in addition... you'd just get to pick which path to go with and you could switch at anytime... lol... that would be interesting...

Re: Member Levels
I have presented this idea to the admin, and we are considering it. I think it will be a fine idea because we have the mods available to control high amounts of spamming. I certainly won't allow it for very long.

Re: Member Levels
yeah... I knew most of you used to be against it before but I figured that now with the mods being pretty in controle it would be a non issue.... and if it ran off of gems it might not only make people stick around it would also make them elaberate more... mabey... lol... who knows how everybody will recact

Re: Member Levels
The forum has run just fine without the ranks for a time, and they have had issues with it in the past, but with a solid moderating crew and a pretty good base of normal users I'm pretty sure everyone can handle it to a degree

Re: Member Levels
They do this on Pokemon Elite 2000 and Dragon Cave, sadly my Dragon Cave account has been hacked so yes...And on Pokemon Elite 2000 there's like 50 people or more on-line at a time!

Re: Member Levels
lol... could you see how hard to moderate it would be if there were 50 people on at one time? lol... it would not be hardly possble... (for 4 people)

Re: Member Levels
Yeah... me too really..... I don't exactly have the time to do much right about now but once I do get the time I'll definitly feel like posting here is more important than it was before.... not that in much honestly it would mean something..... but it will make it at least fell this way
Thanks guys for all of the work...

Re: Member Levels
I was thinking about the same idea.
I remember when we did have ranks. It sort of gave me a purpose in posting. I was a senior in posting, I think.
Well, I'll be waiting then.

For the moderators: Put the spamming fee higher so we don't get spammers for rankings!

Re: Member Levels
Spamming isn't counted in post counts...
Anyways, I'm not sure about this, it seems rather elitist to me, and very much inflates the importance of a post count.

Re: Member Levels
It's simple, if we catch you spamming we will reduce your post count to Zero. Problem solved.

Re: Member Levels
I don't have to say that you guys are safe in the Spam section lol, you've always known that . Anyways the member levels are complete and all, just have to wait for Spyrorocks to implement them.

Re: Member Levels
If it wasn't strict enough people would just spam up the place. So I think thats a pretty fair punishment to keep people from spamming. I'm looking forward to the ranking system.

Re: Member Levels
Well I came up with the basis for these ranks without any knowledge of the older system, so I assume they are different from before.
