Spyro: The Legacy of Apoc: Apoc

Prologue

After his defeat, Malefor slowly slipped into dementia. Tired of trying to rule the realms, he then decided to destroy the planet using 6 men. He called them the Harbingers. The first was their leader Apocalypse AKA Apoc Callypse he was a tallish man with a long black trenchcoat, black shirt, half fingered gloves, black trousers, boots, red eyes and shoulder length hair. The second was a short, bald, dirty, mad looking man. He could manipulate sound, he had dirty hands and feet and wore orange overalls. His name was Tinnitus. The third was a man in a white lab coat wearing a gas mask. He had chem launchers on his fingertips as well as a large chem cannon on his back. His name was Anthrax. The fourth is a disgusting man, with a tattered and torn jacket and torn pants. His face, hands and feet were covered in filthy bandages and was covered in flies. His skin was grotesque, brown with lumps and wounds, like skin cancer with lepracy. He controlled disease. His name was Ebola. The fifth is a heavily armoured warrior with a massive axe. His name was Wrath. Finally the sixth was a man in full camo who carried a whole host of projectile wepaons and the ability to summon meteor showers. He is Apoc's brother known as Armageddon. Nobody can kill these six men except for each other, once they destroy the planet they die. Apoc was fortunate to discover his own free will and left the Harbingers in search of a life that didn't involve merciless slaughter. So the story begins:

Apoc slowly opened his eyes, his vision was distorted by the crystal he was trapped in. The crystal shattered and he fell the the ground, he was weak, barely able to move.

"Unnh. Where....? Am I?"

He jumped when he heard a booming voice behind him.

"I see you have awakened Apocalypse. Welcome to the world, you're friends will join you soon."

Apoc rubbed his aching head and paced a bit until the door opened and 5 other men walked in.

"Looks like our leader has awakened." said Tinnitus,

"He doesn't look like much." said Anthrax,

"Then again, neither does Ebola." said Wrath,

Ebola inhaled loudly, as if he's dying.

"What was that, Wrath?" he said in a creepy tone.

"Nothing."

"Have you forgotten that if I touch you, you'll die?"

"Haven't forgotten. Just chill out Common Cold."

"What did you call me!?"

"ENOUGH!" shouted Armageddon.

The group was silent.

"Let's leave this room Apocalypse."

Apoc nodded and followed. Malefor waited for them in his chamber.

"Welcome Harbingers, I guess you are wondering why you are here?"

They nodded in unison barring Apoc.

"You'll find out in due course, but for now, here are your weapons and abilities. Apocalypse you now possess the ability to manipulate fire, earth, ice, lightning, poison, fear, wind and shadow."

Apoc looked surprised.

"Is this necessary?"

"You are the leader, you should get the lion's share."

"I see."

"Tinnitus, you have the ability to control sound, you can use super high frequencies to eliminate your victims."

Tinnitus grinned and laughed maniacally.

"Anthrax, you now possess you chem launchers, poison your foes with deadly toxins."

Anthrax chuckled

"Ebola, your ability was given to you upon awakening."

Ebola exhaled and nodded.

"Wrath, you now carry Flayer, your axe."

Wrath swung the axe around vigourously.

"And Armageddon, here are your assorted guns and cannons."

Armageddon whistled.

"Now, go forth and lay waste to the lands, and after 8 days come back and combine your powers to destroy this pitiful world."

Apoc looked up in shock.

"Destroy the planet?"

"Didn't you hear me properly?"

"No, it's not that, I just wanna know.....why?"

"There is a purple dragon known as Spyro who has been a pain in my a$$ for quite some time a-"

"Wait. We're destroying the planet on the account of ONE dragon?"

"Well......yes."

"Then I refuse!"

The 5 looked at him in shock.

"WHAT?" shouted Malefor,

"I refuse to serve."

"Harbingers, are you just going to stand there and let this mutiny go without punishment?"

The 5 moved toward Apoc, in battle stance.

"Guys, why do you still serve?"

"They have no other choice. Unlike you they don't have free will."

Apoc turned and ran.

"What went wrong? I didn't give any of them free will, why does Apocalypse not obey?!"

Apoc managed to flee from the mountain and he flew away. This surprised him as he was only human, with no wings. He landed in the middle of a forest.

"Born, with no purpose, other than to kill?"

He looked at his hands and clenched his fists.

"No. I will not destroy the world on the account of one dragon, never."

He walked for a while then stopped.

"But wait...My name."

He looked concerned.

"This cursed name that I was given shall never pass my lips or anyone else's. My name is now Apoc!"

End of prologue

Chapter 1

Apoc named himself Apoc Callypse as a reminder that he is not human even though he looks like one. He kept to the road until he saw two ape like creatures. He crouched behind a large boulder. The two creatures jumped down a ledge and landed with an audible thud. He ran to the ledge and saw two dragons, a black and a purple. He fired bolts of lightning at the two creatures and hit them in the head and jumped down. The dragons stepped back.

"A human?" said Spyro

"Just what we need." said Cynder

"Don't be alarmed, I mean you no harm."

"That's what they all say."

"I am not human."

"Then what the hell are you?"

Apoc couldn't say. He just turned his head.

"Are you a demon?"

"I might as well be."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because I was only created to destroy and kill. I was cursed with a name that means the end of this world. Apocalypse."

"Who created you?"

"Malefor the Dark Master."

They gasped and stepped back even furthur.

"I refused to serve him, but my so called 'friends' willingly obey him."

"How can we trust you?"

"I can only give you my word."

They looked at each other and shrugged.

"I'm Spyro and she's Cynder."

"Spyro, Malefor spoke of you, he wanted me to destroy this entire planet just to get rid of you."

"He must be getting desperate."

"What's your name stranger?" asked Cynder

"Apoc. Apoc Callypse."

"Sounds a bit daft to me."

"It's a reminder that I'm not human and I'll never be one."

"That's quite sad."

"You have no idea."

"Come with us, we could use all the help we can get."

"You'd let me join even though I'm evil?"

"Cynder was evil and I trust her."

Apoc smiled.

"Thanks."

"Just don't shoot us in the back with your fancy gun." chuckled Cynder.

Apoc glared. He followed them to a small town named Sanctum. It was a human town.

"A hick town?" asked Apoc.

"We need to stop and rest."

"You can never trust hillbillies. I ran into a few on my way from Malefor's Keep."

"It's the closest and safest place to stay."

The people weren't accustomed to dragons stepping through their town, their welcome wasn't a warm one.

Chapter 2

The people surrounded them.

"Your kind ain't welcome here!"

Apoc stared at them funny.

"Them overgrown lizards! Get em out!"

Spyro stepped forward.

"Please, we just need a place to-"

Someone hit him with a hammer. Apoc jumped and grabbed the man by the throat and clenched. The man gasped and choked. Apoc suddenly realised what he was doing and let him go. He was hit on the head with a rock.

"What do we do now?" said Cynder quietly.

"I don't know."

"We can't leave, we're surrounded!"

The man snapped his fingers and a net fell over Spyro and Cynder.

"What are you doing? Let them go!"

"'Fraid I can't do that."

"Why the hell not?!"

"They decided to stay, so we have no choice but to end 'em."

Apoc pressed BlackHeart to his head.

"You will do no such thing!"

"If you kill me, yer friends die!"

Apoc grunted, looked away and holstered his weapon.

"I'm sorry." he whispered as they binded their wings and legs.

The man smiled and laughed at him. He was given a place to sleep, later that night he was in his room. He was thinking about Spyro and Cynder.

"What am I gonna do?"

Suddenly it hit him. His Veil ability can cloak him as long as he walks and doesn't fight. He walked slowly to a desolate shed, he opened the door and saw them in the back of the room. Their arms and legs were shackled together, their wings were bound and they were gagged(if they weren't they'd burn down the town). Apoc revealed himself and freed them.

"I don't know how anybody could be so cruel!"

"It's not your fault Apoc."

"I guess."

"Let's go before we are discovered."

As soon as they stepped out they were confronted by the entire village......AGAIN!

"I knew you couldn't be trusted. Kill 'em!"

Apoc was stabbed in the chest. He screamed and clutched at his bleeding chest. He looked again and the wound was gone. He grinned and his palms burst into flame and broke the man's spear.

"Now we are going to do this MY way! Either you leave us in peace or I'LL DESTROY THIS WHOLE DAMMN TOWN! I'LL KILL EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING! DON'T THINK I WON'T!"

The people panicked.

"Okay, you can stay."

Apoc's hands turned back to normal and he smiled.

"Thank you."

The people ran off.

"How'd you do that?" asked Cynder.

"Fear. They wouldn't dare challenge me after I healed."

"Did you mean it?"

"Mean what?"

"You know, the whole destroying the whole town?"

Apoc nodded.

"Yes. I would've destroyed this town for you guys, if they had killed you this town would just be smouldering piles of ash and powdered bone."

"Wow."

Apoc nodded.

"Well at least we've got a place to stay."

"Thanks to Apoc."

"Anything for you guys."

"Has anyone seen Sparx?"

"Who?"

"Sparx."

"Again, who?"

"He's a dragonfly."

"Nope."

"Where'd he go?"

Apoc felt something hard land on his head. He grabbed it and it was a dragonfly.

"There you are Sparx."

"Sorry for the scare guys, as soon as I saw those tow goons I flew away, got lost and now here I am."

"Glad you okay pal."

"That makes one of us." smirked Cynder,

"What was that?" said Sparx,

"Nothing."

"Say, who's this guy?"

"His name is Apoc, he used to work for Malefor."

"Malefor?"

"Well, not WORK for him, more like forced to obey him."

<Just like me.> thought Cynder.

"Anyways tell me all about it."

Apoc told Sparx the story while they walked to the inn.

Chapter 3

The next morning Apoc woke up and saw that he was alone. He stood up quickly in a panic. He got changed and saw no trace of them. Outside he looked for them and saw that they had left town.

"You're friends are gone." said a voice behind him.

"Who are you?" asked Apoc turning around quickly.

"I am Frank Fafara, I own the local fisheries."

"You said that they were gone, where did they go?"

"No idea, but they following a man in red. Do you know him?"

"Never seen him before in my life."

"But the direction they were going looked like the saw direction you would go to reach Port Linus."

"Port Linus?"

"It's a port which leads out of Avalar. Oh, I'm sorry about yesterday and the incident, people can be really cruel."

"It's no problem."

"I hate it when people try and kill dragons."

"You and me both. So how do I reach Port Linus?"

"Come with me to the fisheries."

Apoc followed Frack to the fisheries and he opened a hatch in the floor.

"My assistant Peach will lead you to the submarine bay, there you'll be able to reach Linus before that man does."

"Thank you, why are you helping me?"

"I want to do my best to help dragons in need."

Apoc nodded and climbed down the hole. A shortish man with ginger hair was waiting for holding a lantern.

"Hi there friend, my name is Peach Wilson, these tunnels are used for smuggling. We're smugglers, we get supplies from various sources, dragons, people and other clients. But we can't smuggle outside the fisheries so that's why we built these tunnels. The problem wasn't digging out the tunnels, the b**ch was trying to dispose of the rubble. Here we are."

Apoc saw a large submarine. Peach handed him a card.

"Show 'em this and you shouldn't have any problems."

"How do I work this?"

"Just pull the lever."

"Okay, thanks."

"Good luck."

Apoc stepped inside and pulled the lever. The sub began to shake and the door closed and the sub dived. After a while he was in Port Linus. A man stood by the door, not recognising Apoc, held his gun to his head.

"Stay where you are or I'll blow your brains out."

Apoc gave him the card.

"Ah, you're with Fafara. Sorry, proceed."

He holstered his gun and Apoc stepped out of the warehouse. He searched the town until he saw the man in red, he left one of the warehouses, blood on his fingertips. Apoc entered as soon as he left. He followed the blood and entered a back room. Spyro and Cynder lay on the floor, they looked dead and there were holes in their necks. Apoc closer inspection, Apoc saw that they were still alive, chlorophorm bleeds were implanted in their necks. He pulled them out and stared at the bleeds.

"Sleepers. I thought they were illegal."

He carried them out to the sub and went back to the fisheries. The man in red saw that the two dragons were gone.

"Apoc..." he said quietly.

The two woke up back in the inn.

"Where are we?"

"At the inn."

"The inn? I thought we were in a warehouse then suddenly there was a sharp pain in my neck and..."

Apoc held up the bug-like object.

"Sleepers."

They got up.

"Where is Sparx?"

Apoc pointed up at the rafters, Sparx was asleep.

"I think he went to hide and fell asleep." chuckled Apoc.

The laughted woke up Sparx.

"Wha'd I miss?"

"Nothing much." said Cynder,

"We can stay here one more night then we must leave. Malefor is aware of our location."

End of chapter 3

Chapter 4

The next day they woke up early and used Frank's subs to skip town. They were somewhere in the centre of Avalar.

"How does he find us?" Apoc thought out loud.

"How does who find us?" asked Sparx

"Malefor, it's like he has me bugged or something."

"Bugged." said Spyro.

Apoc then realised.

"Bleeds."

Apoc concentrated and could feel something scratching around in his neck. He reached in a yanked it out taking bits of flesh with it.

"Trackers."

"Are there any other names for bleeds?"

"Depends, you get sleepers, boomers, trackers and stunners."

"Interesting."

Apoc crushed it. After a while Frank met up with them.

"You're not safe out in the open my friends. I'll take you to the one person that will keep you safe. My old friend Lexus."

They followed him.

"What's Lexus like?" asked Cynder.

"He's nice. A bit mad but he loves dragons."

"What about humans?" asked Apoc.

"He doesn't really like humans after he witnessed their cruelty towards dragons."

They reached a small shack in the middle of a forest. Frank knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" said a voice.

"It's Frank, I've brought you some company."

There was shuffling and bumping noises and then the door swung open. There was a dirty old man with one eye and one leg, some of his fingers were missing. He saw Apoc.

"A human! I hate humans! I'll kill you!"

"Whoa whoa whoa, slow down Lexus." said Frank.

Frank was trying to reason with Lexus.

"Okay, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. But he better watch his step."

"I'll come back and check on you later. Bye for now."

They stepped inside and sat down. Apoc sat in a corner looking out the window. Lexus was serving drinks. He walked over to Apoc.

"You want something?"

"No thanks, I'm okay."

"What's that on yer neck?"

He ran his fingers on his neck and saw that the wound hadn't healed yet.

"Why hasn't it healed? Was it the bleed?"

"Bleed? You were bugged?"

"Yep. I tore it out as you can see."

"Good."

Lexus sat down and talked with Spyro, Sparx and Cynder, Apoc was alone.
