We don't really know for sure. We just have to wait for the game trailer to be released. that will give us some answers as to what we will be expecting in the game.
I would say that cynder will stay good for the whole game.

I do know that cynder will stay good because since spyro beat cynder in ANB, the dark master will be coming after spyro instead. Maybe if the dark master does manage to capture spyro, you can play as cynder to rescue spyro. This could be like ANB inverted.

SpyroSoulFlame, that would be pretty cool. Just like in a hero's tail in which you play as hunter and have to rescue spyro.

OH YEAH! I am just so dying from waiting for them to announce if it's a multi-player game or not. Well we still have a long time before it's released. But all we can do is wait and my heart is still rushing from all the excitement.
