PS3 Level One- Escape the Catacombs

so i have just started the new ps3 game... i am a short ways into the first level at the part where you have to apparently get the orb to the top of the catacombs. well it lets you know that while you have the orb it decreases your flying abilities. i cant figure out how to get the orb to the top!!!
