What should I buy?
Okay, so I miss my old Spyro games sooo much. I can't believe I gave them all away. So anyway, I'm going to get new ones but I don't know what to get. I can't get more than 1 games console so I will have to decide which games would be better to play. So it's between the 1st 3 and the later ones (I know some people say they're not as good) If I had the first ones would I need a PS2? and what would I need if I had the recent ones? Is there any way I could play them all one 1 thing? What should I choose?
Sorry for all of the questions. It's been a while...

Re: What should I buy?
If you have a PS2 you can play all of the original Spyros: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro - Ripto's Rage, Spyro - Year of the Dragon. These are the overall best rated in the eyes of fans and by professional reviewers.
With the PS2 you can also play the newer generation of them. They are more advanced, but get poorer reviews and did not do as well as the first ones in sales. I prefer the older ones in every field, but everyone has their own opinions.

Re: What should I buy?
So if I buy a PS2 I can play the first 3 games? (I decided those ones seemed the best ) YAY. Do I not need a PS1? I know they've stopped selling them but...I don't know. What am I saying?
What I meant to say was, do they work on a PS2? I'm happy now. I might get one of Amazon soon.

Re: What should I buy?
No, if you have a PS2 you can play EVERY Spyro game.
PS1 = You can play Spyro the Dragon, Spyro Gateway to Glimmer / Ripto's Rage, Spyro Year of the Dragon
PS2 = You can play Spyro the Dragon, Spyro Gateway to Glimmer / Ripto's Rage, Spyro Year of the Dragon, Spyro Enter the Dragonfly, Spyro A Dragon's Tail, Spyro A New Beginning
Again, I request you buy the old Spyros.

Re: What should I buy?
YAY, that made me so happy. I'll buy a PS2 and the first games. I liked those ones when I was little so I'm not getting anything else. It won't be the same.
Sorry for yet another question, where should I go to buy a PS2? Just an ordinary game/technology shop or online? I am a bit stupid, sorry.

Are you forgetting about the GBA and DS Spyro games? Though I also prefer the old platformers. The new "Legand of Spyro series is the best of the PS2 games in my opinion. Heck I think I can even help you get the first three again if you really want them!
What can I say? I just love video games! But I happily don't let them control my life. Let that be a lesson to you

Re: What should I buy?
PS2's are still sold in most retail stores that sell electronics.

Re: What should I buy?
Ooh, I also prefer the older games, but you can always work your way up.
To find a PS2, I'd make it simple by using Ebay or search electronic stores in your area. I still see them being sold all over.

Re: What should I buy?
The collector's are a pack of the first three games, and of course the normal Spyro's just come one each.

Re: What should I buy?
Actually the only difference between the original Spyro games and the collector's one is that in the original Year of the Dragon, Sunrise Springs and Evening Lake had the same theme songs but now in the collector's edition Evening Lake has it's own theme song.
Just a little fun fact for you guys. And yes I strongly recommend the older ones. They were more fun in my opinion.

Re: What should I buy?
Ah okay then. I know I'm being a bit over the top with this question and it's not that I don't trust you or anything. Are you absolutely sure that all PS2s play ordinary PS1 games? It's just that I'm getting one this week and I don't want be disappointed or anything (I promise to shut-up about this soon)
Also, I used to get petit mal epilepsy or 'absences'. It's where you go into a sort of daydream for a few seconds. Apparently, I've grown out of it but I was wondering whether anyone knew any precautions to take. I don't want it to come back or anything. You don't think it'll cause anything right?
Thanks for being so patient with my excessive questions. :-[

Yes, all PS2s play ordinary PS1 games, for I have a PS2 and am able to play PS1 games on it. Speaking of which, I bought the collectors pack recently, since my originals were stolen/lost... So if they're working on my PS2, then yours should too .
And I thought epilepsy was a seizure? I remember that because Caeser had epilepsy.. And "Caesar had seizures."

Re: What should I buy?
Yeah, the PS2 has a PS1 BIOS installed in the console. Not that PS2 games run on that bios. In other words, The console has two BIOS installed.
I don't care how it looks but how it functions
