Legend of Spyro film has been cancelled

I recently wrote an email to the company who was making the film and this was their response:

Dear,

thanks for you contacting me.

unfortunately. Spyro has been canceled.

best

Youngki.

This is only the information i've been told by a fairly reliable souce, (the people who are making the film, or wonderworld studios/the animation picture company).

Meh... Well, it was going to be made by an awlful company (The Reef has got to be the worst film everrrrr!) so it's for the best. Lets hope we get a new game soon

You know, as much as I was looking forward to seeing a Spyro film, I'm actually kinda glad it got cancelled. I know that sounds odd, but I felt a Spyro film might've ruined Spyro forever unless somebody really knew what they were doing and could somehow manage to pull off a good film about Spyro...

either way, mind you, this movie was never going to happen. it kept getting pushed back, things kept getting put off etc. i just want to see proof from the actual person. it was probably for the better though. i want a Spyro movie, but not one like on that promo poster... good grief he looked bad on that.

EDIT: @ the people below, quit assuming. he hasn't really had a chance to get a screenshot up here yet, only a couple of hours. besides, his English is fine outside of the e-mail.

I contacted wonderworld studios, who are a korean company. The person who wrote to me was a guy called youngki Lee, who is a film director, this is their website: http://www.w2studios.com/about.html if you want to write an email for yourself feel free just don't bombard the guy with spam.

Edit: I'm not suprised if you guys didn't/don't believe me, I should have really put all this info in to start with. It's a shame they stopped making the film but i'd rather see a larger company do a better job then see the franchise fall.

You didn't have to double post by the way, you could've just edited your message and put the screenshot instead.

Yeah, I also sent an email message to the Wonderworld Studios not too long ago about the Spyro Movie, and they replied to me with the same format as shown in Fireriven's screenshot.

Velvet Octopus was supposed to advertise and distribute the movie, along with Universal Studios.

To be honest, I'm neither surprised or disappointed. We hadn't had any news for ages and we only had one poster. One that was strangely similar to the DotD poster...

Ah well, maybe this'll mean that the next game will come quicker?

I'm only going along with what the guy said in the email, so if there is a spyro film then we could question the reliability of the email. I would like there to be a spyro film, thats why I wrote to the people to ask what was happening. It was curosity & 3 years waiting for at least a trailer to be released, so thats my reason for wanting to know why it was taking so long to make. smile
