"I-I don't know." Ignitus replied to Cynder. "Volteer, is another Guardian, alongside me and two others. Volteer is the Electric Guardian, he is a fast talker, sometimes saying more than what he needs to say. Then there is Cyril, the Ice Guardian. He is confident and prideful, but it gets to the point where he just likes to brag about himself. Finally, there is Terrador. He has fought more battles than any of us; he is more able to keep a level head than the rest of us." He sighed and shook his head. "But what Ulkna said proves me fears, that they were captured while trying to rally more dragons against the Dark Armies. If Ulkna is indeed torturing them...it can't be anything good."

Torture ? Spyro tried to imagine what it would look like , in vain. It might be umm...horrible...just knowing the guy from a far.
"We mustn't let them get tortured by this mad guy for sure...If we can...But why are we so important in all this ? What make us so...special ? Me and Cynder are just a little bigger than Sparx , that's all...Did we missed something ?"

Cynder noddded slowly, taking in what Ignitus had said. "Torture? I agree with Spyro, that can't be good. And I have a gut feeling that Ulkna is a real nasty foe to deal with. It's not difficult to miss. I mean, just looking at him tells you he's evil. Look at the way he killed that ape." She shuddered, trying to keep the disturbing image away. "He did that with his mind?! I don't wanna know what else he can do..."

She suddenly trotted ahead of the group, her mind in a daze. "Um... this way." She said, taking a left turn and heading to a small swamp.

Ignitus followed Cynder as she went ahead, the Fire Guardian letting out a sigh. "It is a dark time indeed. I have...encountered Ulkna before, fought against him in battle, but he left me to live just like this time. I thought he was just letting me live just so he can painfully kill me later, but hearing that the others are alive and being tortured, and that he needed me, I thought for the worse."

Neo looked down to Spyro, giving the young purple dragon a calming smile. "There is a prophecy that involves a certain dragon, one who will defeat the Dark Master and save everyone. While the Dark Master has heard about this prophecy, he did not get the egg of whom the prophecy talks about. Spyro, you are not a dragonfly if you are bigger then one." He looked up to Ignitus. "No, you are a dragon; a purple one to be precise, and the one that the prophecy talks about. Cynder is a dark dragon, which is why I put her next to you. I've heard that the Dark Master needed a dragon born of the Year of the Dragon, and Cynder would of been the perfect candidate if it wasn't for me."

Neo sighed at hearing Cynder's outburst. "I know. A dark dragon is just a term to describe a dragon with dark powers, it does not have any relation with evil unless the dragon itself is evil." He looked down to Cynder. "I saved you for a reason Cynder, so you will keep Spyro company and so you don't fall into the Dark Master's hands."

"Do not worry, Cynder. Not all dark dragons are like Ulkna." Ignitus said, putting a tone of spite in using Ulkna's name. "You'd be surprised in how many dark dragons can be good; in fact your walking alongside one who is part dark dragon." Ignitus smiled lightly, at least that would change the topic a bit.

Cynder looked at Spyro solemnly. "I know, but what I'm worried about is whether I'll be able to control myself. I mean..." She stared at the ground as she walked. "...Will I lose control? What if I become someone who I'm not?"

Spyro didn't think about such things , but was sure about something else...
"If you loose control one day , I'll be right there to help you to get the control back ! Don't worry about it. I'm even sure you are able to keep control by yourself alone personnally. Let's go and help the guardians together , shall we ?"
He smiled at her ; his confidence into her was complete , in fact , he wasn't able to even imaginate her becoming evil , no way. She's far too nice to be the likes of Ulkna anyways...

"Hm." Cynder moaned softly while taking in Spyro's kind words. Although she feared that once she was corrupted there was no going back, she smiled at him nonetheless and said, "Thanks, Spyro. And I'll do anything in my power to stop Ulkna killing you. Because that's what he'll do, Spyro. We shouldn't underestimate him. You saw what he did to that ape. If you aren't careful, you'll end up looking like that." She said seriously.

Ignitus nodded to Cynder. "Indeed, Ulkna and his forces will try to kill Spyro, but he will have to get through us first." He looked towards Neo. "I'll let you explain who the Dark Master is."

Neo smirked. "Gee, thanks." He looked to Cynder and Spyro. "The Dark Master was a powerful dragon who tried to assume control over this world. His evil was so great, that the Elders of past had to banish him to exile, trapping him within another dimension. He still had a way to contact our world, and thus he taught the Apes how to harness the power of our lifeforce, gems." He sighed. "If Ulkna is working with him, that means he is trying to release the Dark Master. If he succeeds, this world will be doomed."

"I see..." Strangely, Cynder didn't feel at all afraid of this 'Dark Master.' It was strange, but she felt somewhat fascinated. Why did she feel this way? Was it right? Did anyone else feel the same way? Neo was talking about some hugely powerful evil dragon, and yet she didn't feel an ounce of anxiety. Her deepest fears were coming alive. Did she actually have some sort of connection with Ulkna and the Dark Master?

Cynder shallowed her nerves and asked Neo carefully, "So... how come you're half dark? How'd you end up that way?"

Neo looked to Cynder; though he did not want to talk about, he at least had to explain why he was half dark. "I was born this way, though my dark powers were hidden away until a certain time came. It was what made me into the dragon you see now. My other half, is electricity. Volteer trained me in that area."

"Oh, I see..." Cynder decided not to go any further into it, as much as she'd liked to. Clearly it was a sensitive subject to Neo, and the last thing she wanted to do was to upset him.

She turned her attention to Ignitus. "So... This Volteer. He's the Electricity guardian, right? Ulkna said that he was holding him captive. Any idea where?"

As blood started to pour from his own body as he whipped himself, Flashes of Memories poured back.

He stopped and then grew a wicked smile..This plan of his..was going to work..As long as there were Good vs Evil..He might have a chance.

He looked around..He knew..First to find signs of life..He saw a temple in the distance..and decided to walk to it
