I've noticed that there are a couple of threads that members are currently discussing about what they would like to see in the new Spyro games that may (or may not) be made. If there are new Spyro games, I would like to hear from you about what you would NOT want to be incorporated the new Spyro games. Please try to make your answers as thoughtful as possible as to what you would NOT want in a new Spyro game! smile

I would not like to see a change in the appearances of the characters except for Ignitus, I really like what he looked like in ANB and TEN.

I would also would not like the game to be short like others. I beat games within 1-3 days. I would much enjoy this one if it took me a week. smile

I don't want blocky gameplay. Spyro should be smoother (or as smooth) than in the original trilogy, since he is fighting all the time. And no long load times and no rushed plots as well.

I don't want combat, cliche story, or boring main characters. Those are the three main ones.

Yes, I agree with those three, but I wouldn't mind seeing some combat, just not a wannabe God Of War ripoff style combat game-play. I personally would prefer a more open and animated style of combat where you'd be able to learn new moves as you play the game. Also, you mention boring characters in what you you would not want to see in a new Spyro game? My God, I couldn't agree with you more when it comes to the main characters and even the cliche story in the TLOS trilogy! There seriously needs to be major improvements to Spyro and Cynder's personality, especially Cynder's. The characters in the TLOS game were like flat tires covered with chocolate syrup. After playing the game for a while you realize the characters are bland and mostly flat...and that creates a really dull story. The main thing to creating a good story whether you're talking about a book or a game is to take your time and have the passion to write the storyline. The TLOS trilogy games largely had neither passion or enough time to really develop anything interesting, thus we were stuck with Spyro games which were repetitive in their game-play, had only enough of a storyline to get you to the end of each game. Now, maybe if the writers of the TLOS actually had the time to really fully remake our beloved hero and to develop a good plot in which to go by, the TLOS Spyro would have certainly received high scoring reviews. smile

The combat wasn't a bad idea but it was executed poorly. I wouldn't mind it so much if there was more flexability, such as an arcade fighter, and not forced to do battle every two minutes. The story lacked much detail and felt like pushing a car slowly across the highway with nothing interesting to look at. Even through some locations can have a story to tell, it was vauge and left hanging with no other purpose. It would of been cool to at least read some scattered journal or something.

I look forward to a more well crafted and planned out game that covers these and possibly give a plesant surprise as well in the future.

Especially combat. Ugh, you can practically complete the games just by knowing how to press the Square button.

Avoid
-bad music (dispite everything, Spyro has always had good tunes)

-too many pointless side characters (Sorry Ember, you are all sorts of meaningless. Everyone in Spyro 3, get a real backstory.

-that scense of "why am I doing this" that always comes about when playing (So am I rescuing moles or destroying Malefores armory or am I a lost dragon?)

Spyro x Cynder isn't aweful, just as long as they don't make more dragon characters involving a melodramatic scene in front of Spyro.

Spyro 90210 woould be a dissaster.

I never thought this could happen. But sometimes things get out of hand in game developement.

I wouldn't mind have SxC in it as long as they don't make that sort of cheesy love, like a Mills & Boon romance story. But they're probably gonna do just that, just to annoy us both.

I enjoy movies in which the girl dies. Like in Borne Supremacy and The Dark Knight.

It's not that I like girls dying, it just allows the movie to be more unpredictable. Some movies/video games feel the need for sexual tension to make it interesting. But more times than not it ruins the story.

Some stories can be so realistic as far as the emotion of the characters. And then those same stories can have unrealistic mini-love stories. I know I'm not the popular opinion, but if you're not going to have a realistic love story, then you might as well not have one at all.

Generally, I was pretty relieved when Elora's character was phased out. As least Cynder is a dragon.

Cynder ((they just ruind her beyond repair))

Iggy ((he's eather dead as in new chapter dead of i don't wanna hear it))

Malefor ((He was the main one in TLOS but he sucked so keep him out))

Stupid restricted free flight ((WTF you say free flight and then I can't fly over a flipping tree >_<))

Silent cast ((I hated it on DOTD when iggy came along and suddenly hunters a mute and the rest have nothing to say))

I second. The combat was really overpowered for the game. I mean come on... How many different ways can we come up with on turning a enemy into pulp Sierra?

Sparx's voice sucks in DOTD, and I would much rather listen to the Billy West or David Spade versions.

I know, Sparx is better in A New Beginning than in Eternal Night or Dawn of the Dragon (well, judging by walkthroughs of those 2 games).
