The movie was cancelled... now what?

Well, since we know the movie is cancelled, I've locked all the topics that had to do with information about the movie. Threads where we've been discussing what might have come out of the movie if it had been made, what's going to come next, etc, have been left open for us to discuss.

So what do you guys think? Should we keep this section how it is now or delete it?

Might as well ask another question while I'm making this thread: do you think it will be released on a later date when they've solidified the "new direction" thing?

I personally stopped holding my breath for a Spyro movie a while ago so it don't matter what happens to the Spyro Movie thread IMHO... hmm

I think you should keep it, but change the title to the 'cancelled Spyro movie' or something.

OR if it doesn't get many new posts, delete it.

Put it in the extras section and keep it post-able. Subtitle should read something to the effect "Talk about the cancelled Spyro movie".

Because not all concepts will lead to good, profitable movies. Spyro isn't even that profitable as a game series, I suspect, and it would crash and burn as a movie. Now be quiet and take your anti-spam pills.

mmhh...I don't know what I should think 'bout this.
It may had been a BOMB for teh TLoS Fans [like me lol], but I guess fans of the good old classic Spyro wouldn't even be bothered watching it.
btw, noone really knows if they really used "A New Beginning" for the movie.
My biggest fear was, that the producers (spelled it right?) smashed all 3 games in just one single movie TwT
Just take other Game movies, like Final Fantasy or Resident Evil.
I like them, but die-hard fans were very disappointed, specially at the FF movie.
Maybe it's better for Spyro that the movie got cancelled hmm

Excuse me this might sound rude or something but reading this entire thing made me want to say this... All you people who say its dead and has to be deleted are all heritics, you don't belong in the forum becuase Spyro will never die, we should start a petition on the net and send it through every search engine and website we can... telling sierra to give the rights for the movie and to ask those who originally intended to make it or those who want to, to make it!

Lets go Spyro fans we can't just sit around and let them take the best game of all games and its movie away!

i would agree with you if i could trust companies more.

your opinions are coming strictly from a Spyro fan point of view, without any real-life-citizen input. what you're not realizing is that people hated the idea of the movie, not because it's Spyro or anything, but because of what the real world would do to it; think about how bad the movie could have been. we don't know how good the creators of it were, and if the movie really was that bad, it would only hurt Spyro, not help him.

a movie would be good, but like i said before: if we could trust the companies more.

Ha... My nephew never played the game but he wanted to see the movie... and you are partly right with the companies and not helping the dragon era...

Why don't us fans try and create the movie to fan standards?

Personally, the whole concept of making a Legend of Spyro movie was a bad idea to begin with. The only way to make a Spyro movie that will pull in both sides of the fractured fanbase and may even heal the rift is to make a film that merges the two realities into one... ohhh... wait that is what my film trilogy is doing....

Never mind... I just really wish I could get some actual support and assistance from the fans of this franchise. You guys want a Spyro film welll I am making 3 of them currently.... Care to lend some assistance by any chance?

we would support it if there was something to support besides a bunch of big ideas that conveniently keep getting pushed back again and again and again. i'm really looking forward to 2009 when that official site gets launched, or 2008 when the first movie comes out. tons of people have called you out on it, and you seem to conveniently ignore that like you conveniently push back everything you announce.
