I wouldn't want Spyro in an actual crossover unless it is Super Smash Bros.

I don't know, that would almost make Spyro a satire, and thus a comedy. A Hero's Tail attempted something like that, and look what happened.

What I would like to see is a return to old form, ie; an open world collectathon. I do, however, like the combat system introduced in DotD. But it needs a lot of tweeking (namely, making it less of a GoW clone). For one thing, stick to fire breath. Ice breath, I could understand as a powerup or one-time ability. But lightning and earth/water/bubbles? That's unnecessarily complicating things. Isn't it possible to introduce a new gameplay element that isn't just a new thing to spew out of your mouth?

As for the storyline, I just want to see a departure from the cliche storyline of TLoS. I mean seriously, it is transparent that they were trying to turn a story about a little purple dragon into something like LotR. The end result is something that, when viewed by a non-Spyro fan, is hilarious (and I don't mean

And yes, I am a n00b.  smile

Hero's Tail was a great game, though Sparx's dialogue had a lot of unintended innuendo, and there were several annoying characters and cheesy moments.  I chuckled at the Mario and Zelda references.

I agree AHT was fun, but c'mon, PINK TREES? Also, it made too many self references, which made it seem kind of cheap.

Re: Spyro to go back to the old loved dragon?

I'd like to see the old PS1 Spyro again, but I'd also like to see more isometric "collectathon" for the portable systems. I can't quite place why, but Spyro 2: Season of Flame is still my favorite Spyro game. I want to see another game like Season of Flame on the DS. Also, I hate LoS.  Any old-style Spyro at this point is good Spyro.

Everyone has their own opinions. I do prefer the classic three. I grew up with them. New Spyro is alright for me but thats why I want to work with Spyro.

The pink trees did make it feel less like the originals, but it's the purple sky that bothers me.  It was supposed to turn blue after beating the world's boss, but a glitch keeps it purple unless you do first person view.

Yeah, I keep noticing that too. And what's wrong with pink trees? It's a fantasy game.

In Truth nothing can ever go back to the old ways or feel like it, like you once did.

It never has the right feel to it.

Mario games do a pretty good job of it, though tongue

Of course things can go back to the classics just like RadSpyro said. Mario is a perfect example of it. You just need the right person to do it.

Re: Spyro to go back to the old loved dragon?

I have a dark feeling on the inside of my heart that all of us Spyro fans
are screwed over by the stupid companies these days. Bungie is still
independent, so they would/should do well with the Spyro series.

And that World conquer will be on every single credits.

In reply to the title of this thread,

But we can hope.
